Dear Ms. or Mr. Donna,

To you, pagganap is a solo activity. You expect everyone to praise you and be at your every beck and call, regardless of your actual skill or talent in the area of performance. So let me tell you one thing right now: You are not unique.

Are you surprised that I would dare to call you something as offensive as "ordinary"? But it's true, and I have proof. I know this is true, because we have met before. I met you first in middle school, as the girl who was always used to getting the lead and then was suddenly cast as the understudy. She contemplated quitting, when she decided...

 Georgia Winters
Georgia Winters
Some actors play the same type of character in similar feeling projects over and over again. How boring, right?!

Well, actress Georgia Winters doesn’t seem to have that problem. The French and British bilingual actress has been showcasing her talents with global audiences in a variety of ways.

Currently, Georgia can be heard belting out a song as the Mother of Dragons in the series "Game of Thrones Animated"; sharing new age wisdom on the film festival circuit in the absurd Hollywood satire "Liars & Cheats"; and coming soon in a hush-hush role as part of the dark psychological indie thriller...

Shubhra Prakash (actress/writer)
Technology defines modern progress, but at what cost? As society takes on a different shape, do we lose the culture that defines who we are as a people? How do we determine what to preserve and what to revolutionize?

Indian American actress-writer Shubhra Prakash takes audiences on a journey of innovation, preservation, and self-discovery with her one-woman ipakita “Fontwala.” The story follows an immigrant woman who returns to India after 20 years to cover a story about her uncle, the designer of the first Anglo Nagari keyboard for the computer. It’s a tale of art meets commerce meets humanity....

Yoko Ono catapulted to fame as the wife of John Lennon. For many, she also bares responsibility for the breakup of the most beloved band ever, The Beetles. But, to at least one – she became an inspiration.

Actress ANZU LAWSON reveals how this iconic Japanese-American influenced her own journey of self-discovery in the new one-woman ipakita “DEAR YOKO.” Based on her life, Anzu weaves together a tale spanning years of domestic violence, suicidal ideations, drug addiction and sexual harassment.

Anzu premiered "Dear Yoko" at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in September and will take it to the Binge...

1 Don't do monologues from movies.
If you do a monologue from a movie, people will automatically think 'not like in the movie'. That will make them think negative things, and because you're not like the actor/actress in the movie, they'll most likely think less of your ability.

2 Don't do very well known monologues.
Pieces like the 'To be or not to be' speech from Hamlet, or something like that, the directors have seen those all the time. They get tired of seeing that. It's not unique anymore, and they'll lose interest fast. Do ones that haven't been performed enough, or better yet, one you...

Same-sex attraction wasn’t socially acceptable when Virginia Woolf penned the original story of Orlando. She wrote the novel as a pag-ibig letter to her female companion, but was forced to use a sort of code so as not to raise suspicion. The story spans centuries as it tells the tale of an enthusiastic heterosexual man who wakes to find himself transformed into a woman.

Times have changed and so has Virgina Woolf’s Orlando, as evidenced sa pamamagitan ng the kamakailan production of Sarah Ruhl’s adaptation at the Lyric Stage Company of Boston, directed sa pamamagitan ng A. Nora Long. Now in its final weekend, the ipakita has...
