I didn't know either, but I got the info about 1 1/2 week ago(someone spoiled). And I really don't think this is a good idea, mabye you'll spoil it to people who still dosen't know. They'll going to get real angry.

Well, I just recently started to watch the show, and with that, I did immediate research on the characters. I was surprised for a moment that Akito was female, but got used to it a few moments after and accepted it.
I think it makes the character even madami interesting as well as mysterious. Unlike most people here, I didn't see the character in a romantic light (of course, I've only watched a few episodes,) and even if I did, I wouldn't care- considering my orientation. Gender doesn't matter to me anyhow, so it wouldn't destroy me.
I think it makes the character madami respectable in a way too, for what her mother forced her through. And in the end- it doesn't matter. Akito is Akito. Still badass, still the Zodiac God, still an amazing antagonist, still a complicated and well developed character.
For me I did know but because I accidentally took the 20th volume of Furuba thinking it was two from the aklatan and before I watched the anime I read in it there that Akito-san was a female and her complex past..I kind of wished those parts were in the anime because they never indicated that.
