Alexander Skarsgård wins best supporting actor at Golden Globes
was a show centered around women (making the cast part of EW’s Entertainers of the Year), but the male costars also handled themselves well. Alexander Skarsgård’s performance won him Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television at the 75th Golden Globes on Sunday.
“I am here tonight because I had the privilege of working with a group of extraordinarily talented women,” Skarsgård said in his acceptance speech, singling out the book’s author Liane Moriarty, producer Bruno Papandrea, and his on-screen wife Nicole Kidman. “Nicole, I love you. Thank you for making this the greatest experience of my career.”
Adapted from the book of the same name by Moriarty,
told the story of mothers in a California town trying to untangle a murder in their midst. Skarsgård played Perry Wright, the abusive husband of Celeste (Nicole Kidman). HBO recently renewed the series for a second season.
