Well Anime is obviously about animation first started creating in Japan, but it soon influenced people to other things such as drawing your paborito characters, but if you want help on knowing when it was first created:

First of all your drawing is awesome, segundo you can tell him some lessons you learnt from anime or some quotes, it may leave a good impression.

I did a speech about the history of anime/animation, and even a PowerPoint. I would srsly ipakita it to but I'm not on my cp right now.
I know the creator of the first anime was a man named Akira, he was influenced sa pamamagitan ng Walt Disney.
