5x03 Deleted Arwen Scenes :o( 

How does this person know what scenes were cut? Are they a reliable source? If so, its sad that they deleted so many great A/G scenes. And I knew that shared chambers!!!

-When Merlin and Arthur reach the top of a pass that overlooks Camelot, Arthur tells Merlin how time isn’t making it any easier and how much he misses his father. -Valdis had in her neck a tattoo depicting the Tree of Life that could be seen in Morgause’s bloodguard tunics, blood stained clothes and a ghastly wound on her back (making clear she hasn’t got much life left in her).
-Merlin rides with Valdis (the sorceress) in his horse but she can barely stay put in the saddle.
-Merlin is tending to Valdis’ back wound. When Arthur is not close he tries to heal her with magic.
-Valdis warns Arthur to never look back when the veil is closing if he decides to use the horn.
-When Vadies dies Arthur is lost in thought, staring at the horn.
-During the banquet, Percival raises his goblet and says a toss to the king. All join in. Arthur tells Gwen that he is tired from the hunting and getting an early night but her face acknowledges that she knows what really troubles him. She asks him if he wants some time alone and he says that he does, is grateful for the offer and tells her to enjoy the feast. Merlin watches Arthur leave the room with some concern.
-In the scene where Arthur is hiding the horn under the bowl Merlin asks Arthur if he has got him a present before realizing it’s an stupid question. When Merlin goes for the bowl Arthur whacks him with the spoon.
-Gwen runs into Merlin when he is getting Arthur’s horse ready. She recognizes the saddle and Merlin blurts out that they are going hunting. Gwen wishes to join but Merlin says that it’s going to rain. Gwen corners him into almost admitting that it's Arthur who doesn’t want her joining them. She is hurt but Merlin says that it’s because Arthur cares for her safety. It doesn’t make things better and Gwen walks into the castle saddened.
-On their way to the stones Merlin tells Arthur to spend some time with Gwen when they are back, maybe pick some flowers for her too.
-Merlin reminds Arthur that he has always considered dangerous meddling with magic. Arthur replies that that’s why no one must know about what he is to do.
-Merlin reminds Arthur about Valdis’ warning not to look back as the veil closes.
-Arthur and Merlin are spending the night around a campfire. Merlin is awaken by a funny feeling.
-When they are going up the castle stairs Arthur reminds Merlin not to tell anyone about where they’ve been. Merlin gives Arthur a bunch of flowers that he was hiding behind his back just as Gwaine pops in. Arthur and Merlin look uncomfortable and say at the same time that they are for Gwen as Gwaine smiles at the awkward pair.
-Gwen is staring out of the window, Arthur places the flowers in front of her face, she turns around to a smiling Arthur. He says the flowers are a token of his affection. She puts them in a vase, asks about the hunting. Arthur hesitates and says it wan’t fruitful. Gwen tells him that she understands that here and there he needs time for himself and that if he doesn’t Gwen to accompany him, she’d rather hear it from his lips and not Merlin’s. Arthur says that he only wanted to get her some flowers and for it to be a surprise. Gwen isn’t convinced, and asks if there’s anything that he isn’t telling her. Arthur denies it. Gwen remains unconvinced but lets it drop. The walk together to a round table meeting, the vase flies across the room and smashes against the wall.
-Before Leon’s boring account at the round table, Elyan has one of his own as well.
-During Leon’s account the candelabra sways gently to a breeze in the room. Merlin is the only one to notice and seems to wonder about it.
-After the meeting, Gwen finds the broken vase and the flowers on the floor. She starts to tidy up and the candles flicker. Some antlers are about to fall on her when Arthur enters. Arthur asks what happened but Gwen can’t tell. Arthur says that it was probably Merlin being clumsy and jokes about sending him back for more flowers. Gwen tells him not to be mean and both smile.
-Arthur and Gwen are having dinner and the door flies open, but it’s Merlin this time. He needs to talk to Arthur urgently. Gwen takes the hint and leaves them alone knowing that something is going on. Arthur thinks that it is about the vase but Merlin says that he had nothing to do with it and that he believes that Uther is behind it. Arthur doesn’t want to believe it.
-Uther knocks Arthur out with a fying chair instead of a shield.
-Arthur and Gwen are sitting in bed, he confesses it all to her. Gwen says that most people would have done the same and wishes he would have told her about it. Arthur promises not to keep anything from her again. Then he points to a vase and tells her that he’s got her flowers. She gives him a look and rephrases his words into having sent Merlin to pick them. Arthur says that’s what he meant. Both smile.

They are going to have to make this up to us bigtime......seriously pissed over here!

Honestly, though, how long would it have taken to slip a couple of those scenes in? Especially the one at the end where they are in bed together and he tells her everything, or the one at dinner. TPTB are yet again refusing to acknowledge that they are married and that it is just as much as an integral part of the show as anything else that they see fit to include. They really need to get their act together and start acting with more maturity if they don't want to start losing viewers.

You all do realize that someone actually HATES ARWEN and I can only conclude it is that old Queen MURPHY.

Huh? I'm pretty sure the producers love A/G, Capps said he wanted everyone to root for them.

I think this might be the suckiest thing I've ever read! I do not understand why these writers are incapable of writing interwoven stories. Why would you cut out so much interaction between Arthur and Gwen when it is beyond germane to the plot? They're asking too much of Arwen fans when we can't even see their shared reactions to events in their kingdom. I really feel cheated after reading this.

I'm still wanting to know if this person's info is reliable. Did they see the episode before it aired and then scenes were cut? Do they work on the show?

I'm sorry, but I have a hard time accepting that all this is true. I'll believe it when I see the deleted scenes or the script. To me it sounds like these scenes are what this person wanted to see happen... not what was actually written and deleted. Just sayn

I have heard from another source about Arthur giving Gwen flowers as 'a token of his affection', and I've seen spoiler pics of Merlin holding a bunch of flowers, but beyond that I don't know! I really hope that it isn't true, because if it is then I have some serious issues to sort out with the editors!

I am on the throw something lists. Are you friggin kidding me? WTF? I am at a lost for words. If this is true, I don't even know what to say anymore about the idiots who run this show. Sigh. Are they that threatened by the Arwen relationship that they have to cut out all Arwen interaction? Are they afraid that if they show Arthur and Gwen behaving like a married couple then it will end once and for all this whole Merther ship crap? I’m speechless, can’t even type/say anything else.

I'm done with "tokens of affection", and kisses on the forehead! Grab her like nobody's business, shove your tongue down her throat and MAKE OUT WITH HER! Better yet, throw her on the bed and make passionate love to her like a husband should! geez!

Guys, I say we start tweeting like nobody's business and make their lives a living hell. I have never been this angry since the inception of the show and what is more, I believe the same has been done for episodes 4 and 5 respectively, now that I cannot prove, I just read that somewhere.

WE NEED TO LET THEM KNOW WE ARE PISSED OFF! No wonder everything felt off kilter and imbalanced.

Sitting in bed together...

People on Tumblr are saying that scenes were cut from 5x05 (and its from digital spy apparently) when it has yet to air on TV so how would they know of scenes were cut. I know they get to see episodes early but wouldn't they know till after they show the episode on TV what was cut and what wasn't.

They should have kept the last scene of him confessing the whole deed to her while in bed, this is what he always does, confess his bad judgement / poor decisions to Gwen, she forgives him and all is right with his world again. Even in real life at the end of the day you climb in bed with your husband or your partner and you discuss the days event. This would have been more realistic than the ending they choose to give it. The reason the Arwen fandom was fit to be tied, it was not realistic.

Thank you. My best gossip partner is my other half. Many a morning and night we do debriefs and some are hilarious. That is one of our moments and when we are old and one of us is gone, that is the second thing (evil grin) I will miss.

No Millie, all you have to do is get hold of the scripts. If nothing else, I remember something a rather intelligent doctor friend of mine (not you Joppa you have a few years to go) she said, do you see how much they fear the relationship of ARWEN? This is the only reason they do what they do because it is rich and deep and not a temper tantrum in a kindergarden that passes for friendship. They don't want to have them both together because the flat aspects and dysfunction of Arthur and Merlin's relationship will show loud and clear.

I am with you guys this merthur ship is pure delusion... This show never show them as couple... I think this was just something these people with serious problem invented... Because they could not stand gwen as a love interest for arthur not some beautiful white pricess and merlin was the closest one aprincess..if you think about it yesterday I didn't seen.none of the merthur shippers were angry about mithian getting in the middle of their ship, on opposed they were shipping her with merlin... I think the problem here here is gwen /angel... It's just sad that th ese show runners are destroying this epic love.story...I hope.I am wrong

Grrrrrrrrr! NO wonder episode 3 did not flow. All that great story waiting to be told. Instead we get the Merlin/Arthur slapstick? Again...tell me how is this a more mature show? I have no more words.........

Sorry ... i just couldn't contain that in me any longer!! WHAT THE FUCK!!! That wasn't just deleted scenes in my opinion ... it was the whole damn episode that they've reedited!!! What on earth were they thinking or not!! So many scenes ... grrrrrr!!!!

As you can guess I'm pissed too. Now I'm hoping for episode 6.
Can't express how dissapointed I am at the moment.

I thought this might be the case that Arwen scenes were deleted, they film many more scenes than actually reach our screens. Unfortunately, they edit in favour of Merthur and Arwen is left on the cutting room floor.

I know it is all a matter of fitting an episode into a limited amount of time, but they really do need to include more of the Arwen scenes, not only because it doesn't make for good continuity. The scene of them in bed for example, I consider that essential!! :D

I'm not surprised. not surprised at all and that's really sad.. However I am angry. Really properly angry. I don't care how, but I want to see those scenes. End of it!!
As Shu said, this is whole episode, not just few scenes of them. It's like they're trying to make this show lame when they could do a real thing..
