Chapter 7: SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay…..all we did was sat there. Literally. No talking. No moving. No nothing. I was tempted to yell out, “AKWARD TURTLE!!!!” But guess what?!?!? I didn’t. The tension just kept growing and all my family could do was stare. My mom began to cry (Man she’s emotional) and my brother started to twiddle with his thumbs. Finally Sam got up and broke the misty silence in the room.
“Okay. First of all, of your gonna actually live in this 21st century, here’s the truth. You dudes look like morons.” She said.
“EXCUSE ME!?!?” Toph sinabi staring straight at Sam.
“All I’m saying is that we gotta give you guys a lesson on being actual people. First, we need you to get NEW clothes. Then my mom can teach you how to actually pay for stuff. Then-“but Toph cut her off.
“We’re not your babies! We can take care of ourselves!!”
“Oh yeah?! I say not. Just go shopping. People are gonna immediately think your rabid fans of awatara last air bender, the TV show. Honestly. I mean, I’ve seen this ipakita before, and you guys look exactly like you did from the show.”
“BUT OF COURSE WE DO!!!!” Yelled Toph’s daughter, Takani.
“Yea, yea just shut up. Now my mom, Sydney, and me will take you girls shopping. Then we can have my Dad and my brothers take the boys shopping. Zach can stay and babysit Eli. Got it?” They all nodded and Takani looked like she wanted to beet Sam up. Zach scowled and went upstairs with Eli in his arms. Michel followed the guys, but his mom had to go.
Katara, Toph, Takani, Kayla, Kyra, Sam, and I all jumped into the car.
“What is this strange building?” Asked Katara as she rubbed her belly. “Is it ligtas for a pregnant mother in this?”
My mom laughed as she hopped into the driver’s seat. “It’s called a car. Ours is something called a Honda. We drive in it to get places.”
“Why can’t we just use Appa?”
“Appa who? My mother asked.
I smiled and answered, “Mom, It’s their flying bicen. They didn’t bring it with them.”
“So is the car safe?” Asked Katara again. My mom nodded and we showed them how to buckle up.
After we departed from my house we drove the ten minuto drive to the mall. The entire time Katara looked like she was gonna puke while her daughters Kayla and Kyra started laughing in delight.
Toph was examining the parts of the car. “Is this made of metal” she would ask repeatedly.
The entire ride Takani would pout and frown as she fiddled with a small rock In the shape of a dragon.
“What’s that?” I asked her.
She scowled and answered, “My dad made it for me when I was 4.”
Once we reached the giant building, my mom found a parking spot and we went inside.
“This building is SO big!!” Katara sinabi in awe. We went around looking for a maternity store for Katara first. My mom repeatedly grabbed different pants, shirts, and shoes and showed Katara the dressing room. Soon after Katara yelled from behind the dressing room door,
“How do you put on this white cup thing?”
My mom laughed. “It’s called a bra Katara.”
“OH!!!!!!!”
Sam and I laughed while Toph looked at us like we were crazy. Soon after Katara came out in a blue sando that covered her round belly, brown jeans, blue converse, her hair in a ponytail, and giant hoop earing’s.
My mom smiled. “Oh you’re SO cute!” You look just how I looked like when I was pregnant!!”My mom then handed Katara a jean purse. “There! A normal pregnant mother!” My mom grabbed some madami clothes for Katara and we paid with ginto coins that Katara handed the cashier. The lady had a weird look on her face but handed us the bags. My mom just decided we would pay from now on. After we paid my mom led us to the Gymboree store.
“Mom! I don’t think they want these kinds of clothing! Why don’t we go to Hollister or Aeropastel!” I sinabi as Takani began to smirk at a paruparo palda and a kulay-rosas sando that sinabi I pag-ibig you. My mom disagreed as she showed us a green uod shirt.
“But its so adorable!” she squealed.
“Uh, mom, remember, Kayla, and Kyra are my age. Plus, Takani is around 10 so I think we’re good with Aero pastel.”
My mom shrugged and we ran into the Hollister. Music blared inside and teenage clothing filled the racks.
“I like this store!” Kyra sinabi as she eyed her twin and smiled. They ran to some clothes and began grabbing walang tiyak na layunin stuff and ran into the dressing room. Kayla came out in a jean miniskirt, leggings, brown boots and a blue Hollister shirt. Kyra came in the same thing but and kahel Hollister shirt. They both had their hair down, and you could just tell they were twins.
They grabbed some other clothes and my mom paid for it. Toph didn’t like any of the stuff and neither did Takani so we went to the nike store.
Inside Toph almost screamed with delight when she saw apicture of some boxers beating up each other. She ran for some green hightops, basketbol shorts, and a green running jacket. When toph came out of the dressing room she looked just how I imagined her. Her hair was pulled into a parang buriko tail along with a white sweat band wrapped around her head. Takani got some skinny jeans at another store and wore a nike sando plus some green converse. When we finally left the mall and got home, Zuko, Tenzin, and Micheal were watching a football game as Zach explained how the game was played. Aang sat at the kusina mesa as my dad tried to teach him how to read english. Life seemed good.
