Author's note: hello all. I've decided to use Edgar Allan Poe's "Haunted palace" as the model for this one. But I've expanded on it a little and thrown in the long sentence element for effect. Basically, it takes the example of a decaying object, a palace in poe's case, to symbolize the pains of a decaying mind. I will attempt to do the same w/ Azula. Anyways, comment if u like and enjoy! :D
In the grandest nation, in the grandest capital,
There was a grand estate.
The gates were prominently defined in such a way that one could not help but cast their gaze upon the glinting selyo of the royal family in the hopes of escaping from these short moments with a piece of honor and strength to call their own.
Had not the greatest lived there? Had not the greatest conquered many a nation and produced many a worthy heir?
The servants walk in servitude, unknowing of much of the inner workings of a girl, the standing manifestation of the like.
Her flames were fueled sa pamamagitan ng the very fear which they incited.
The mind will wander, but never too far.
Never so far as to tanong our princess.
But sequestered within the gates lay a fountain.
Turtle-ducks don't swim as they did when the water came in full pulses, shifting and moving to the constant and eerie warning of a few somber ripples all fearing the golden gaze of a decade's training.
The water stops, blackens, hisses outward from the fountain.
The servants walk in dignity, fully knowing of the inner workings of a mind---of a tortured mind, of a mind--that has wandered to the edge, and back.
All the way back?
They walk fully knowing of the inner workings of one so content on keeping them---keeping people in their place?
Curtains open. The light hisses inward through the crack in the velvet to meet the face of a mind so anguished, so wanton, so starved---that wanders into the darkest corners that have no definition nor...
The mind will wander.
The mind may live.
The mind will fall.
And into the dark?
