Apparently the lead role 'Buffy' will be played by a black actress. I am not racist, I have nothing against black people, I think there are a lot of black celebrities out there who are talented. But I cannot imagine anyone but Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy Summers.

Sarah Michelle Gellar is the only actress that will ever be Buffy to me. No one else will ever be able to replace Sarah as Buffy in my eyes.

As others have said, it'd be weird seeing all the characters (or all the characters they bring over, anyway) acted by new people. If the same writers weren't involved, it might not have the same air and the same humour which made me a fan of the original series. I'm also unsure whether I'd be able to see it - that'd depend on whether it'd be aired on any UK channels.

Now that I've read the article about this reboot, I just think it'd be a better idea to do a BTVS inspired spin-off with a different Slayer, possibly a historic one with Nikki Wood or another black Slayer, or a futuristic one.

Same as @Flickerflame and @Makeupdiva, I can't imagine other ones playing Buffy's characters than originals ones.

I didn't like the movie but I loved the TV show. I'll at least check out the pilot episode. I agree a spin off would probably draw a larger audience.

In all honesty, I'd probably actually wait to see the reaction this spin-off gets and try watching it if enough people say it's good. But there wasn't a maybe option.
