I absolutly hated Prue. I know that sounds harsh and I dont really have a reason why, but I just cant stand her.

I agree tubby2002! I never had a reason why I didn't like her, I just never took to her character. I liked the show much better when Paige was in it, but Piper was always my fave!

Prue was always angry, and I think Piper takes more care of her sisters...I am glad that it was Prue who died and not Piper...

i agree with everyone! i never took to prue either. bev hills 90210 was all i remember shannen as and she drove me nuts! love piper bc she held everything together and trained a new sister where as prue didnt even like phoebe when she came back from NY. def piper all the way!

love them both. but piper kept everyone together, trained a new sister, had hot sons and a hot temper to go along with her explosive power.

I used to love Prue so much and Piper not that much, but when Prue was gone, Piper was to me like GIRL YOU ROCK SIS!
So I forgot who I really prefered! But Prue was and will always be way better taking the lead. She was the best big sister.

Prue. She was THE big sister that Piper continually looked up to even after her death. She kept her sisters safe a number of times, and was jus so protective of them it was sweet. Yeah she came across stuck-up bcz she wanted to be strong for her sisters. As much as I loved Piper, the way her sisters could walk all over = not exactly big sis material

I think, Piper was the better big sister, bcause Prue wasn't always a good sister for Phoebe. Piper was a good big sister for Phoebe and Paige. I think, piper has more understanding.

Although I love Prue as much as Piper, I think Piper is more understanding and conforting than Prue was. Prue seemed a bit harsh at times.

Prue is the best big sisters. She wasn't angry alot, she was always protective of her sisters and made sure they came first. Yeah I know Piper did this and that but she didn't just warm up to Paige at first cause she was still grieving over her loss of Prue. And how bout that the great hold Prue had on her family and how she maintained her responsiblities? That was always mentioned on the show cause they weren't sure they could measure to her standards. I think that Prue is selfless and takes pretty good care of her sisters. Come on people she only had 3 seasons. Piper had 8 so of course she was gonna have to be come more of the elderly sister to Phoebe and Paige but that doesn't mean she's the better older sister. Prue is stong-willed girl which a lot of people mistake as being stuck-up and snobby but she was always just trying to make sure of her sisters safety. Older sisters are supposed to be bossy to their younger sisters. Piper I kind of felt was a little gullible at times, almost as much as Paige. I bet if Prue stayed on, Prue would have continued to rock as the big sis.

to me piper was the "big" sister even when prue was alive she took care of phoebe and prue with all their drama.

Weird. I actually see Prue as the more nurturing one of the two, in contrast to some of the above comments. :P Piper's awesome and she does have a soft spot for her sisters, but she can be quite cold at times. Whereas Prue just seemed more approachable overall. I think if these characters were real people I'd feel more at ease around Prue and be able to confide in her more.

I liked Piper's experience of getting used to being the oldest though. I think Piper realising she would now take that role was interesting, but to answer the original question I think Prue was naturally better at it.
