It was July 25, 2004. I had just turned fifteen the buwan before. I was sitting sa pamamagitan ng the phone, strumming my guitar, waiting on Terra to call. I really wanted her to tell me of a petsa that would work for her, a petsa that I could come to Sacramento. I hadn't seen her since American Independence Day, and I wanted to keep our long-distance relationship intact. Just then, the phone rang. I answered it, but it was a man, and he said, "If you give me a credit card number, you'll win a free Corvette." While that was my dream car, I knew immediately that it was a scam. The uncle of my namesake always said, "If it sounds to good to be true, it is." I played "Bridge Over Troubled Water" sa pamamagitan ng Simon and Garfunkel on my guitar. I sinabi to Killer, "I feel like I'm in a relationship with my gitara instead of Terra." He barked. The phone rang again. This time, it was Terra. "Terra," I cried. "I've been expecting your call." She said, "I have good news and bad news. Which do you want first?" I said, "I don't care." She said, "The good news is I already found some friends." I said, "That's great. What's the bad news." She said, "The bad news is I like someone else." I sinabi in shock, "What the fudge!?" Though, I didn't say fudge. "Every time you find a guy who's really attractive, you decide you like him better than me!" She said, "I know, but I can't do this long distance." I said, "Good God! It hasn't even been a month!" She said, "So long, Anthony." I looked at Killer. I said, "I waited all this time for that?! I had to keep myself entertained sa pamamagitan ng trying to master melancholic Gospel songs on the guitar." He moaned. I said, "My feelings exactly." So much for waiting on the phone to ring.
