Part I: I'm Being Black-Mailed
Since the deaths of my mom and Simon, and John joining the band, I had not thought about dating. Ian kept encouraging me to "get back on the horse," but I told him that I was fine being single. I didn't tell him that I missed having a girlfriend. Ian and Charles put their heads together, and they signed me up for an online dating site. The website apparently found a match for me. Charles told me about it, and I laughed. He said, "I'm serious." I said, "No." Ian said, "Look, the website found a match for you." I said, "Really? What's her name?" He replied, "Her name is Prudence Woods. She wants to meet you." I replied, "Not likely. I don't know if I should trust this shilly shally thing." Charles came up with an idea to convince me. He knew that I was, and I still am, afraid of snakes. He said, "Anthony, if you don't go and meet this girl, you'll have to settle for a sticky situation." I replied, "Define sticky." He said, "I have hidden a snake in your closet, and if you don't get out of this house, it will remain there until it dies." I said, "You didn't." He asked, "Are you willing to risk it?" I said, "Oh, my Lord! I'll go!"
Part II: I Think I Know You
The meeting was arranged in a coffee shop. I was apprehensive at first. The girl approached me. She said, "Wait a minute! I know you!" I said, "Prudence! It's nice to see you again." Shocked, John said, "Hold it! You know each other?" I said, "Yeah, she was the band's first fan." She said, "Yeah, and I still have your autograph." I smiled, and then I said, "I'm sorry, but I wasn't really looking for a date. I didn't actually sign up. Ian and Charles signed me up, because they felt sorry for me, and I'm being black-mailed with a snake." She said, "If that was slang, I'm afraid I don't understand. If that was literal, I feel you." I asked, "May I buy you a drink." She said, "Coffee, please." We talked for a long time. She told me that she always dreamed of managing a band. I said, "Well, our band could use a new manager. Our former manager quit for unknown reasons." The rest of the band agreed, and Prudence became our manager. We later fell in love, and currently we are still dating. I don't know if I will ask her to marry me. I wouldn't say that we'll live happily ever after, as this is not a fairy tale. However, this story does have a happy ending, I became closer with my brothers and their wives and their children. I also made up with my dad, forming a better relationship with him. He apologized for the way he treated me for all those years. I was at first suspicious, thinking it was because I was a famous rock star, but I learned that he converted to agnosticism, and he even gave me a new car, a Corvette, my dream car. My life became the best it had been in a long time, and while there may be madami bumps in the road, I know that I can make it through life. I've lived through my biggest fears, thanks to my friends, and I've written some of the best songs, thanks to inspiration from Simon Huckle, my best friend, and John Lennon, my paborito Beatle.

The End
Halloween is over, and Veteran's araw has come and gone. The susunod holiday, of course, is Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving isn't exactly my paborito holiday, mostly because of family issues. However, this holiday does get me thinking. It gets me thinking about being thankful. We should be thankful for what we have. I am thankful for my family. How we feel about our family is complicated. They can be aggravating. Some members can cause drama. Others are just downright mean. Deep down, I'll always pag-ibig them. I'm also thankful for mani Butter, my pet dog. He's been a great companion for the past eleven years, and I think he'll be around for a few more. I'm thankful for my friends. They're great people, and I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. I'm also thankful for music. It's great therapy and quite soothing. What are you thankful for? I will leave you with this thought. "You should be thankful if you Nawawala your hat instead of your head."-African Proverb
