Can't understand

So, I started pagbaba the bible. I don't understand why God killed off people, and the mga hayop and stuff... but he let two of each animal live, and Noah and his family. Maybe I missed a major detail, but if God was upset with man, why didn't he kill off everyone and just start over? Why'd he let specifically Noah and his family only live?

And also, forogive me if I'm wrong, but isn't incest against the Bible? And in the segundo generation of Noah's family, they would all be inbreeding.

Noah had 3 sons and they each brought an unrelated wife into the family prior to the flood. Yes, generally the Bible speaks out against incest, particularly in the present and also throughout the greater part of history. The offspring of Noah’s family were treated as exceptions much like Adam and Eve’s children in the sense that this was God’s will and He simply allowed and in fact encouraged it in order for humans to “be fruitful and multiply. Therefore there was nothing sinful about the procreation of Adam and Eve’s descendants as well as Noah’s.

Well said. Ninja-Kitten, God didn't start over and just scrape everything off because He was ipinapakita grace in NOT doing so. He gave everyone a chance, Noah sprend the word, but of, course, they wouldn't listen. It was their choice. Noah and his family DID listen, so that's why they were spared.

It was because the people at that time became wicked and turned their backs to God and knowingly followed evil ways. God became discouraged and did consider starting over. Noah was the only righteous man of that generation (this doesn't mean that Noah was without sin, but that he was the only one who loved and followed God with all his heart). Therefore Noah found favor in God's eye's. God's objective was not to destroy man, but to destroy wickedness brought about sa pamamagitan ng sin.

Genesis 6: 9-13

"This is the account of Noah."

"Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God... Now the earth was currupt in God's sight and full of violence. God saw how currupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had currupted their ways. So God sinabi to Noah, 'I am going to put an end to all people for the earth is filled with violence because of them.' "

Though it does not state how and where Noah was chosen sa pamamagitan ng God, it does briefly state how Noah was seen sa pamamagitan ng God as holy and righteous, so it insinuates the fact that God had chosen to spare him without reasons other than what was stated.

The tanong of why Noah in particular as opposing to other men besides what's stated in Genesis?

If you refer to the New Testament in John 21: 21-24:

"When Peter saw him he asked, 'Lord, what about him'?" [refering to John]

"Jesus answered, 'If i want him to remain alive until I return what is that to you? You must follow me.'"

"Because of this, the rumor spread among the brothers that this disciple would not die. But Hesus did not say that he would not die. He only said, 'If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?'"

"This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true."

After pagbaba this, we notice that Peter was questioning God about what would happen with John, and Hesus simply ang sumagot sa pamamagitan ng asking Peter "why not"? God, in all of his divine power, knows what's good and true, and knows what is best in our lives. This scripture was intentionally put into the bible so that we may reference to it when we may have those tanong of "why". Hesus knows all, sees all, and forgives all. The story of Noah is one of the best examples.

According to Old Testament Noah was the ONLY righteous man left on Earth. God didn't see reason to kill him just because he was living close to everyone else. That wouldn't be fair now would it?
