Every book, song, movie and TV ipakita has a message, and those messages affect our lives whether we're aware of it or not. So while it's good that you pag-ibig anime/manga and enjoy collecting it, it'd probably be good to look twice at the content of each series. I don't believe anime/manga itself is evil or "of the devil", but I do know that it has a very dark side to it. You don't have to paghahanap too far to find lots of sex, violence, witchcraft and dark/demonic themes in the genre. So I don't recommend getting too deep into it. Satan will get in at any loophole he can find, you know. Be cautious. On the other hand, I know that anime/manga can be a wonderful form of storytelling, and there are many series out there that are really good and have a lot of positive, uplifting messages. So let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater. A perfect example of this would be Fullmetal Alchemist, the series that converted me from anime-hater to anime-appreciator. ^__^ The main reason why I pag-ibig it and feel comfortable loving it is because it fits well into the Philippians 4:8 glove ("Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about these things.") The characters in it and the relationships they all have with each other are so deep and meaningful and wonderful, and the pangkalahatang themes are thought-provoking and inspiring: love, hope, selflessness, mercy, humanity, the sanctity of life, finding redemption and doing the right thing...those are all things that line up exactly with what I know as a Christian. And not only that, but the "alchemy" in FMA isn't occultic in any way. It's treated strictly as a science. So I don't have any uncomfortable "Harry Potter" niggles going on in my mind when I read/watch it. =P So yeah...when in doubt, try on the Philippians 4:8 glove. That's my advice. I'll quit rambling now. xD
