According to his law, I was an outcast and a traitor.
This is my story.

It is a story of good and evil, pag-ibig and hate, passion and peace, suffering and sacrifice. It is an adventure, a romance - my metamorphosis, and my song.

It is no less than my story, but it can be very much more, depending on the reader.

The land I lived in was ruled sa pamamagitan ng a King. He was good and gracious, just and perfect - and I hated the very sound of his name. I lived my life outside of his laws, calling down curses on his name, because I despised him. Because he was the King - he was in control, not me. Little nervous hands tug at the ruffles of a kulay-rosas swimsuit as timid feet step onto the rough, wet surface and begin the long journey to the end of the diving board. Ominous shrieks and splashes echo around her as the cold air hits her skin, and she stops in her tracks. The edge is just five feet away.

“C’mon, Sarah-sweetie!” she hears her father call, his calm voice urging her pasulong and rising above the noise that rings in her ears. “You can do it! Just a few madami steps and then you’ll see me.”

She jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said, “How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?”



The surgeon said, “I’m sorry…We did all we could, but your boy didn’t make it.”



Sally said, “Why do little children get cancer? Doesn’t God care anymore? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?”



The surgeon asked, “Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he’s transported to the university.”
