Ok,I know that everybody(including myself) are dying for DE to finally get together...We get looks,almost kisses,tension,but we do not seem to go to the susunod level yet and we are wondering why not??But that can be good...

First of all,Elena had to be looking for Stefan all summer.He is her boyfriend,she knows she loves him and it would be illogical to just stop caring and looking for him...Then,when she found him and saw what he had done and who he had become,would we want for her to abandon him?No,because that would not be like her.She never gives up on the people she loves,she is faithfull.Isn't that one of the things we pag-ibig about her?What would it say for her character if she gave up on the guy she supposedly adores when he most needed her and went straight for his brother?So until now Elena is pagganap like well,Elena,trying to save the guy she cares about(although it bores us to death)and nobody can accuse her in the future for not being there.
Let's ilipat on to Damon.Other ships are already hating him for numerous reasons(I do not agree with anyone of them,but they exist).What would be sinabi if now that his brother,who went with Klaus to save him,and needs him very much, he just ignored him and went straight for his girlfriend?It would not be good...Everybody would say that he does not respect him,care for him,blah,blah,blah...We would not hear the end of it...

Also,if Elena went for Damon now,she would not have made a CHOICE.Damon would just be the susunod best thing,the Stefan rebound guy.Because she could not have him she "settled" for Damon and the minuto Stefan came back to normal,she would start begging for forgiveness,leaving Damon heartbroken again,because for one madami time his brother wins and he gets nothing in the end.

If they happened now it would not be fair to all the amazing build-up we are getting for two seasons.We have the best build-up in the whole series and I do not think that anybody can deny that!!They both have evolved throught each other,discovered things about themselves and now Elena is slowly starting to getting in the place where Damon has been for a long,long time and she is realising that she does not she him as a mere friend but he is much,much more(for me that is one of the reasons she wants Stefan so desperately back...She is afraid of her feelings and he is "safe",her shield.)

So,in order to make justice for Damon and Elena both we must want for Stefan to be his old,boring self again,before we have our DE.Then Elena will make a CHOICE unbiased and "ripper-free".Then she will choose Damon,not SETTLE for him.He will be her first choice,and it's about time he is somebody's first choice!!And Damon would not be accused of backstabbing his brother when he is the most vulnerable...It would be an equal and mutual choice and I don't think that anyone of us wants something less...
So DE fans,let's enjoy the wonderfull ride we are into a ride that nobody else in the ipakita gets...

delenasalvatore Yup. DE are the ONLY couple in the show who have received any build up. SE got none. Beremy got none. Matt/Caroline got none. Forwood got a little but not much. Damon/Rose got none. Damon/Andie got none. Why? Because DE are the only ship that will last until the end of the series, that's why. Ideally, I would like to see Elena be single for a while. I don't know if SE can ever go back to the way they were, to be honest. When you consider that Elena never truly knew Stefan when they were together, and the guy she loved was not the person she thought he was, I think that their relationship is altered forever. I would prefer it if they split indefinitely. Season 3 begins with Elena telling Stefan to remember she loves him:'Remember that. Never let that go.' It would be great if the writers could think of a parallel to that scene, with Elena saying something like: 'No matter how much I love Stefan, it'll never be enough. I have to let him go.'

mine17 100% agree, I want them to be real, it'd be OOC for Elena to be with Damon now. I want her to be in love only with him.

Virgo_Outlaw I absolutely agree with all your points ;) I have always thought that we have to wait for DE, even for a long time, if we don't want that their awesome relationship could be spoiled. Or worse, that Damon could be miserable again :(( Sure I want wonderful scenes between the two in the process (and I think we had nice ones so far in this season that make us understand that something huge is changing in Elena..and THIS is important :)) but Stefan has to turn boring as usual in order to have an Elena who is aware of who she really loves. To be honest, I longed to see Stef the ripper because it's his more veritable side and I wanted that Elena saw that the real Stefan is not the saint she thought, that she was in love with a pretty fake mask of his....actually I don't know if she is about to understand that. maybe yes but if not, well, Stef The Bore can come back...

delenaloverx7 I agree completely. I also agree with delenasalvatore. I want Elena to be single for a while so she can figure out what she wants to do with her life without being in a relationship with anyone. Besides, Elena really needs her own storyline and it seems like the only way that could happen for an extended period of time is if she was single for a while. Of course I would want her and Damon to keep getting closer until finally she chose him. (:

So after the last episode was aired the Damon hate started again. Over what? Damon saying to Elena, “Let me be clear about something. If it comes down to you and the witch again I will gladly let Bonnie die. I will always choose you.”

The hate doesn’t make any sense. Ok so Damon was sweet and nice to Bonnie. I bet some fans thought that he cared about her but guess what? He never cared about her! He may respect / understand her, but he’s never gonna actually care for her on a romantic level! And as of right now I don’t see him caring about her at all. All I see is respect...
