I really rushed to get this ready, since Aurora is currently princess of the month. In case you missed it, I also wrote another "language of flowers" artikulo about her.

Character: Middle. Yes, I know, we don’t learn much about Aurora, but being a dreamer myself, I have an easy time to connect to her. I don’t really mind that we don’t see her doing anything brave, since she just doesn’t have the opportunity. I just wish they had elaborated further how she felt about the whole princess business – I don’t mind the suggestion that she might have chosen duty over love. That is a concept which is very prominent in the Arthur saga. One could say that Aurora has the markings of a good queen.
Role Model: Uncategorized – there is nothing wrong with the way she acts during the movie, but there is also nothing particular admirable about it. She just doesn’t have enough screen time to be either a bad or a good role model.

Beauty: Top! Not just top, she is easily my number one. I would put every singly feature in the tuktok five, including eyes. It’s a little bit unfortunate that they are mostly not particular prominent, because of the art style used in the movie, but the long leashes she has in the close ups and the shape of them make up for a lot.

Fav Feature: The hair! Only Rapunzel can rival that, and her hair is magical. I’m a big tagahanga of curls, and I pag-ibig how Auroras curls ilipat when she is in motion. I also like the fact that the color seems to change in different scenes – I suspect it’s mostly accidental, but it makes so much sense. Hair doesn’t look always the same, depending on the light, it can look very different, especially golden hair.

Fav Clothes: I’m with Merryweather on the color issue, especially with the long amerikana the blue dress looks very royal, underlines her grace, and bumagay her much better than the kulay-rosas version (especially that particular shade of pink).
But my paborito is the peasant dress. It’s not so much the dress itself – I pag-ibig the palda and the shape of the sleeves, but I’m not too crazy about the collar, it looks a little bit homely. But for her it’s perfect – the peasant dress subtly shows off her figure, but doesn’t distract from her beautiful hair and features. Plus, she moves in it like a dancer. And the scarf is a nice touch.

Fav Hairstyle: It doesn’t matter what she does, her hair looks always good. I like it the best if it’s simply open, with nothing in or on it at all.

Fav Scene: The moment when she leaves the cottage – in this short moment, there is so much character in her face, it’s easy to believe that she is very smart.

Prince: Top! So very much top! I mean he wants to give his trono up for her, fights against a dragon, no other prince can tuktok that! His looks, I would place him in the middle. Not particular good-looking, but I like his boyish smile – it’s cute.

Pairing: Middle – there is no tanong that Phillip is dedicated to Aurora, but I wish they had ibingiay her the opportunity to ipakita her dedication to Phillip, too (aside from crying).

I have seen a lot of talk of the sexism in early Disney, and while I think it's a fair and interesting subject (if the difference in social attitudes at the time the movie was released is taken into account) I thought it would be nice to highlight some of the positive messages and female relationships I see in one of Disney's early pelikula that are sadly often overshadowed when people judge it

People tend to judge the movie sa pamamagitan ng its 'main' character, but as we actually see and learn madami of them, I think Flora, Fauna and Merryweather are a better place to start when looking at the movie's attitude...
