The Current Princesses
With 11 official Disney Princess and two madami to sumali in the upcoming year, I've decided to create a countdown of my tuktok 11 paborito Disney Princesses. While Anna and Elsa will sumali in 2014, I'm just going to focus on the ones we currently have - besides, I've only seen nagyelo once. So without further ado, let's begin!

ApplesauceDoctr's paborito Disney Princesses

11. Aurora
While Sleeping Beauty was one of my paborito pelikula from childhood, Aurora herself never truly stood out to me. In her short runtime she walks around the forest and sings - and even though she has a beautiful voice, there's not much else for me to say about her. Even when she's on screen I get rather bored. It's unfortunate for the lovely Aurora that she isn't ibingiay much time in her own movie, and that really brings her down this list.

10. Pocahontas
Pocahontas just isn't my paborito movie nor do I find her to be interesting. She's fun in the first half or so of the movie when she's running around, kayaking and pag-awit about the mga kulay of the wind. I admire her bravery in the climax - and you all know what I'm talking about when she's sacrificing her life for the one she loves. She's determined to see peace between her people and the explorers, even when the odds are against her. However, besides these elements (they're great elements, don't get me wrong), not much else is there to Pocahontas. She loses her fun in the segundo half or so of the movie and even before that she wasn't too interesting. At least not for my taste.

9. Merida
I was really looking pasulong to bravo and I liked it! At least I did the first time I watched it. Over the taon it's not so much my paborito anymore. Merida proves to be a free spirit, wanting to do things her way instead of the ways she's expected to. That's pretty admirable - she was bravo (hehe puns) in standing up for herself and going to all the trouble of trying to control her destiny. And did I mention the hair? Good gracious it's amazing!
And sadly, that's where my positive remarks end. I was a little upset that Merida wasn't quite as action-packed and awesome as I thought she would be, but I guess that's my fault. I wasn't too big a tagahanga of the idea of her inadvertantly transforming her mom into - well, you know. I realize that Merida didn't know what she had done and sa pamamagitan ng the end she learns her lesson and the value of family, but something about that whole situation just rubbed me the wrong way.

8. Snow White
It seems that not too many of us favor Snow White, and I guess I can understand why - she's a bit of the archetypal princess; she waits for her prince to rescue her, she sings in a voice that sounds a tad too old for modern liking, and she isn't too strong. However I'm willing to look past those and see Snow White for what she is - a young and caring princess. She willingly runs away from tahanan because she's quite aware that the reyna is after her. Talk about bravery! And notice how scared she was of the forest. She didn't run back for fear of the forest; she kept on going. And when she finds shelter, she does her best to pay off sa pamamagitan ng cleaning and cooking. That may not sound like much, but the fact that Snow White would go to all that work and still be happy and kind (much like Cinderella) is something I find positive. Then why is Snow so low on the list? I simply find other princesses to be madami memorable.

7. Jasmine
I like Jasmine. She was one of our first power-princesses, if you will. She wasn't pleased with the life she had and she was bound to find a new one and be happy. I admire her courage into going pasulong with that plan because she was entering a whole new world (hehe, madami puns!) which she wasn't familiar with. Thankfully it all worked out for the best.
With Jasmine, there aren't too many negative things to say. I realize that this isn't her movie, and even so, she is still a likeable and fun character. Maybe a little madami character development would have been nice, but with what we're given, hasmin is one of those princesses I like.

6. Belle
Ah, Belle. What's not to like about Belle? She's kind, forgiving, able to see the good in others, and she even took her father's place and accepted the fact that she'd be imprisoned for the rest of her life. (Thankfully that's not what ended up happening!) I still think that these qualities make Belle a memorable and likeable princess. I wish there was madami to say about Belle, but that's alright - what's been sinabi is good enough. ;D

5. Mulan
Is she a princess? No. Is she a Disney Princess? Yes!
I think there's something about each princess that makes her stand out, but even moreso with Mulan. She is the one who takes her dad's place in the army to not only keep him safe, but to be her true self and to find out what that true self is. Once again, I admire her bravery. I can't really say I relate to Mulan, but if she's awesome that's good enough for me.
While Merida is another one who has an outdoorsy skill (archery), I still prefer Mulan, for her clever thinking and skill when it comes to defeating the Huns in war.

4. Ariel
I can't imagine disliking Ariel. She's so...fun! :D Out of all of the princesses Ariel is definitely one of the most interesting. She is very curious about the world above and doesn't let anything prevent her from learning madami about it. You could argue that she wasn't satisfied with her life - because come on she did have a good life! Trading your mermaid tail for legs? What are you, crazy? I could wonder about that too, but Ariel knows what she wants and, like I said, she won't let anything get in the way from her goals, her dreams, her wishes. Her determination, fun personality, and whimsical-ness (hurray for made up words!) make Ariel a standout from the others.

3. Cinderella
Is it strange that Aurora and Snow White are at the bottom of the list, but Cinderella's in the tuktok 3? I think there's a certain gracefulness (is that even a word?) about Sinderella that I like in comparison to the other two. Cinderella, like Snow White, puts up with so much work almost all her life and yet she's still kind, caring, and happy. Maybe not super happy, but still, happy. I also pag-ibig her voice - it's so calm and lovely. I don't think any other Disney Princess is madami deserving of her happily ever after than Cinderella. I wish I could explain madami about why I like her so much, but I guess she's just too great for words. ;D

2. Rapunzel
Much like Ariel, I can't imagine anyone disliking Rapunzel. Rapunzel is a free spirit who wants to know madami about the world, which makes sense since she was locked away from it for so long. Speaking of long, her hair is awesome.
Rapunzel is so fun and adventurous, as well as determined. Nothing is going to stop her from reaching her dream, and throughout the movie she proves to be nothing but likeable, interesting, and understanding of others. Rapunzel - what's not to like?

1. Tiana
And my paborito of all is Princess Tiana! I really find her movie to be underrated, but I'm glad that I found Fanpop because it seems like she gets the attention she deserves. :D Tiana is one of if not the most hardworking princess(es), for she's been looking pasulong to having her own restaurant for almost all of her life and has been working so much in order to make that dream come true. I think that's really inspiring. Not only that, but I like seeing her progress throughout the movie - at first she's just hardworking and maybe "a stick in the mud", but she learns to have a little fun and to bring madami pag-ibig into her life. I pangkalahatang just pag-ibig Tiana, and I'm glad to see that her and her movie are receiving madami attention as the years go on.

And that's the end of the article! Thank you so much for pagbaba my very first article, and I hope to see you again in upcoming articles. I'll plan on updating this countdown susunod taon when Anna and Elsa officially enter the lineup. Until then, see you later!

Call me Anne. I wouldn't say my age because you would be embarrassed but think older then Elsa. I loved the 90s princess (Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, and Mulan) since I identify with them a lot. When I was in elementary&High school I did get bullied but that's a long time nakaraan now. I pag-ibig some of the artikulo I have read here on this site specifically the ones arguing about Sinderella not waiting around for a Prince to save her. Did you know that it took from the 1800s to the 1912 before Snow White's and Cinderella's respective stories overlapped? And in the 1913 some guy who had the last name Powers who would later help Disney with Steamboat Willie made his own film version of Snow White and borrowed the True pag-ibig halik from either Grimms' Briar Rose or Perrault's Beauty in the Woods.

Hello everyone! I'm Veronica (a.k.a. ApplesauceDoctr :D), and hey, it's been a little while since I've written an article. It feels good to get back into the spirit of writing. :D
So, what have I today? As you can see, I'll be analyzing the song "Reflection" from Disney's Mulan. I made a lyric video for it about a week nakaraan and realized just how deep the song is! However, in this analysis, I'll also be taking a look at the extended version of the song. It shows a different side of Mulan that...well, you'll see soon enough.

Alright then! Let's take a listen to Reflection!
