The actually look basically identical, but Vanessa has a sinister vibe that I prefer to Ariel's 'girl next door' thing. I also prefer Vanessa's hair and body.

Vanessa has creepy eyes, an ugly skin tone, wierd and creepy eyebrows, a wierd face shape, her bangs pop out wierdly, her hair is kind of flat and unnatural looking, the only thing I like about her look is her lips.

Well, tbh, I just think Ariel is cute, not pretty. She looks like a baby to me. Vanessa isn't beautiful, but she's pretty on my book, so I'll have to give her the point. Don't think wither are striking or beautiful

She looks like an evil scheming witch... but I'm SUCH a sucker for women with long dark brown or black hair. It's not even funny! *_*

Plus I don't really like Ariel's personality much better (sorry Ariel fans, that's just how it is), so her personality doesn't really lift her out of my "eh" reaction to her physical features.

By far IMO, I think Ariel is beautiful and Vanessa's face is not so beautiful.

I'm surprised this is so close. I don't find Ariel to be particularly beautiful or anything, but Vanessa has some really ugly shots.

They do share a number of basic similarities, but I think the differences are striking enough to warrant a comparison. And Vanessa has a significantly ramped up sex appeal next to Ariel. Whether that's more to ones taste or Ariel's cute thing is, is just a matter of taste. Although I do honestly think that it's disingenuous to hold Vanessa looking a bit like a mess after the animals get through with her against her. Ariel never had to deal with that level of physical abuse, and correspondingly never looks that un-made-up.
