Disney Princess Don't you think Beast's act of letting Belle go was careless considering his servants would have been condemned to remain objects for eternity?

It doesn't change everything but that's really problematic when I think about it actually. I have to rethink his character.
True he could of, but it seems more bittersweet to let her go.
Don't you know the song?
You know you've Been high when you're feeling low, you only hate the road when you're missing home.
You only know you love her when you let her go.
And you let her go.
He puts Belle's needs and want before anyone else. THATS LOVE!
He just couldn't care about his servants because he loves Belle to much.
He could have just brought Maurice back, but to show true love he had to let her go.
You're actually completely right, I just want to defend beast a little because obviously he wasn't smart enough to think of that. He was blinded by love, that's like the only excuse really. It wasn't selfish, but completely careless. So excuse me whilst I change my vote so I don't seem stupid.
They got turned into inanimate objects because of his terrible behavior, they got condemned to solitude because he stopped trying to find love to break the curse even though their ability to turn back into humans depends on him finding love; they had to endure his tyrannical behavior for ten years, and then, after their one ray of hope in becoming human again, he snatches it away from them. Then, when the attackers try to break down the door, he says "It doesn't matter now, just let them come."
Um? Hello? Beast? Yeah, you're not the only one under a curse. You're not the only one who lives in the castle. Why don't you actually do what royals are supposed to do and HELP YOUR SUBJECTS!
I know the narrative is supposed to show he stopped being selfish and learned to care about others when he learns to love Belle, and he does. Problem is, he only loves her. He still shows he still doesn't care about others; least of all his servants. He'll still condemn them without a second thought to their future, happiness, or well-being.
After the curse is broke, when Beast embraces Lumiere, Cogsworth, and Mrs. Potts and exclaims "Look at us!" I want to think, "Don't touch me" and "You nearly condemned me to eternity as an inanimate object. and made me put up with your tyranny for ten years besides. Don't act like we're friends."
Him saying "let them come" was more a suicide wish than anything else. I think in that moment he just wanted everyone else to get out of the way and let Gaston kill him, he thought that would solve everything.
if he let the girl he loved go, she would
return to him when the time
was right!
