I find it kinda confusing that her powers went from ice making to creating life. That's just inconsistant.

Yes, her powers are overpowered. She could change things (her outfit, Anna's shoes), magically. She could build a grand ice palace without feeling exhausted. She could change weather. She could freeze Arendelle by only walking through the sea and could destroy a whole kingdom by creating a blizzard around it. And she can undo all of them easily only by 'love'... But most of all, HOW CAN SHE CREATES LIVING THINGS??? She could create as many living things (with different minds, personalities, hearts...)!! Who is she??? Also she could easily resurrected it (when they're melting) and giving it a permanent cloud of snow. I still can accept all of her 'overpower-ness' but not the 'creating things into alive' one! And the only explanation where she got this powers is only from born! Why her parents or Anna didn't get the powers too? Or the ice powers choose a host like Marvel's Phoenix Force does? Too bad the movie did not explain about it at all.

They're so overpowered she can't even control them.

More than overpowered, it's inconsistent. One minute she can't control it and fires blasts towards Anna (how does that even work, by the way? An icicle piercing her chest would have killed her immediately!), and then she can summon an ice palace out of nowhere and create living snowmen. It's confusing.

I sort of agree with Scarlet, though I think her inconsistent mastery over her magic has to do with her moods: when she feels relaxed, fearless and happy, she can control it just fine; otherwise. when she feels anxious, stressed and scared...

But what confuses me the most is how the gloves can restrain her powers, when she can use any part of her body to create ice, even if they are clothed. For exampled, during "Let It Go", she stomps her foot, creating a snowflake shape in the snow. However, she was wearing shoes and stockings.

It doesn't bother me that she can create artificial forms of life such as Olaf and Marshmallow, since they are made of snow and ice, which are her domains.

I don't understand how " the love" aspect was supposed to allow her to control all of her powers. Elsa wasn't "feeling loved" when she went right out into the wilderness.... She was feeling scared and angry not loved. How is she then able to build an ice castle with no problem??!? But if Anna and Hans both confront her about the weather, she says "I can't," repeatedly. Elsa at the moment is also in the fearful, scared, and angry emotional stage. This story is inconsistent all over the place. I'll be writing about it soon....

At first I thought no, but all of the above commenters bring up really good points.

If they had given her powers an origin story, all of the things above might have been explainable. Like say Rapunzel: How in the world does magic hair that makes people young also have the ability to heal wounds? And even more so, just because her hair has this ability, why in the world would her tears be able to bring someone back to life. All these things together makes no sense, but when you understand where she gets her powers from, you can start to understand how all these things piece together.

I'm sure there is an origin story that explains all of Elsa's gifts. The problem is, we never get to see it and it results in a very unbalance and overpowered character.

Does her power have ANY limit?

The fact that she's supposed to be the 5th spirit somehow explains the overpowering (setting up a snowstorm and stuff kinda makes sense but being able to make outfits with ice powers?)
