Belle & amp; Anna/ Cinder- ella & amp;...
laylastepford picked Belle & Anna/Cinderella & Rapunzel:
All of these girls are humble, optimistic and supportive/encouraging. Belle & Anna: Both spunky, romantic, want more out of life and willing to do anything for their families including sacrificing themselves. Cinderella & Rapunzel: Both had abusive parents but finally escaped to a better life. Both poised and obedient. Cinderella & Anna: Both grew up semi-isolated and dreamed of having "real lives". Both waited a long time for their first big event ball/coronation. Both witty and pleasant. Belle & Rapunzel: Both like to read and dreamed about adventure (felt trapped for different reasons). Both are patient and don't have a short temper.

I think these could all work! You've put an impressive amount of thought into all of these. :)

audreybrooke: Thank you. I appreciate people like you who take the time to comment and give their detailed opinions as it helps me gain more insight to the characters and possible pairings and groupings. May I ask why you chose the selection you did over the 2 available?

I pick Belle & Anna/Cinderella & Rapunzel because Belle & Anna come off more spunky/energetic and yearn for more outdoors/adventures to me whereas Cinderella & Rapunzel come off more quiet/content and yearn for more socializing/activities to me.

I think Belle and rapunzel are selfless, caring, sensible (most of times), compassionate and non-judgemental and have a streak of adventure in them, they want to explore more than their existing life. Enjoys to read. Also, one of the interesting traits that they have in common, they are not afraid to speak their mind. Rapunzel was a bit slow to learn that but it clear how she gains that kind of confidence eventually.

Cinderella and Anna: both are kind, gives more preference to others over themselves, are highly optimistic and have strong faith in their beliefs/dreams. Anna strongly believed in Elsa despite being shut off for years and Cinderella believed in her dreams despite being in her state as house maid. They have a kind of inner strength that do not show openly, but they calmly take a stand and stick to it, no matter what. Both also dreams of love, for different reason.

^The way you described Anna and her relationship with Elsa makes me think of Belle and her relationship with her father. The way you described Cinderella believing in her dreams despite being a house maid also makes me think of Rapunzel still believing in her dreams to see the lanterns despite never leaving the tower. I don't recall Cinderella or Rapunzel dreaming of love? Would you mind refreshing my memory?

^that would be one way to look at it, sure. but i think the core was in the faith for Cinderella and Anna. For belle and rapunzel, belle was that way with Beast, compassionate and non-judgemental the same way Rapunzel was with Eugene, despite both, Beast and Eugene didn't have the greatest of intentions towards either.

Belle and Rapunzel also found love when they were least looking for it.

I didn't say Rapunzel dreams of love, I said Anna does, same as Cinderella. Anna with the hope of meeting "the one"and Cinderella ( So this is love), the way she feel for Prince Charming, like head over heels. Actually to think of it now, the reasons were also, at the base of it, very similar - both wanting to get out of their locked state, Cinderella literally and Anna, emotionally.

^I wouldn't say Belle was non-judgmental with the Beast at all, I would say the complete opposite. She judged him many times. When he asked her to dinner and she said no, then the Beast took out the magic mirror and watched her talk to the wardrobe. The wardrobe said "He's really not so bad once you get to know him. Why don't you give him a chance?" and Belle replies "I don't want to get to know him. I don't want to have anything to do with him." That is like the classic prejudice example: I don't know them and I don't want to know them because I already believe what I do about them and it won't change. And personally I think it was a very good thing that she judged him that way because it made him open his eyes as he responded "She'll never see me as anything more than a monster." He was acting like a monster so Belle judged him as such.

Later when Belle brought Beast home after saving him, she judged him again. She said "You should learn to control your temper." She was judging that he did not have an appropriate control of his temper and she was right again! This again was, to me, a very good thing because he realized she was right and stopped arguing. Then they started to build a real friendship after that.

In the "Something There" scene Belle reassesses her judgment of Beast and judges him again. That's why there's the line "There's something sweet and almost kind. But he was mean and he was course and unrefined. And now he's dear and so unsure, I wonder why I didn't see it there before." She admits in the song that she had prejudged him and not taken in these other qualities about him.

She also judged the Beast to Gaston and the townspeople when she told them that he was "really kind and gentle."

To judge means "to form an opinion about (something or someone) after careful thought" and to make a judgment is "the act or process of forming an opinion or making a decision after careful thought". Belle was absolutely judgmental.

I don't see how Cinderella and Anna (Anna especially) were more locked or trapped than Rapunzel?
