All of these bother me, though. They are each princess's flaws. I'd also add, just for Rapunzel:

I never actually noticed this before, but now that I see it I completely agree. Why?????
Also, I almost picked the Cinderella one, but I always just figured that she was just so happy (or tired, she was up until midnight and probably had to be up early to do chores) and forgot. A stretch probably, but that was what I always figured.
I think Belle was perfectly considerate to the townspeople, though! In the opening song, she smiles and chats to them. Heck, she tries to talk to the baker but he's not interested! Just because she has "her nose stuck in book", doesn't mean she's being "inconsiderate" to the people who are talking about her behind her back. The only person she's really "rude" to is Gaston, but he's pretty rude to her so not much blame there.
Also, @Wavesurf ^, Rapunzel didn't start distrusting Gothel earlier because Gothel was a textbook emotional manipulator. She manipulates Rapunzel into trusting her by doing "nice" things for her - like going on a long journey to get her paint and making her favourite soup - so that when she's awful - like basically calling Rapunzel fat in song ("plus, I believe/gettin' kinda chubby), that "oh, you're here too" in front of the mirror, little jabs like that as well as refusing to let her leave the tower - and Rapunzel gets mad at her, she can counter it with "don't make me the bad guy, I do so much for you" and Rapunzel feels guilty for thinking bad of her, because that's true, isn't it? "She travelled all that way to get me those paints, she must be doing a lot for me, I guess I'm being unfair." This gaslighting is a tactic real emotional abusers use; I don't really think we can fault Rapunzel for not realizing sooner.
This was a really good, interesting poll, though. I really love these kinds of "unpopular opinion"-type polls. I might do one of my own in the future, I'm unsure.

I get that Naveen was being a total butt, and it was his fault she became a frog. But even when Naveen truly opens up to her about how he was never really taught to be self-sufficient, Tiana's like, "aw, poor baby." Kinda funny tbh, but dude... really not the right time for that. She rarely has any empathy or compassion for him.

Tiana has this attitude in general that she's better than Naveen - and pretty much everyone else - because she believes she works harder than them. But if she had been raised with Naveen's privilege who knows what she would be like? idk, it just bugs me that she never really acknowledges that they're both very much products of their circumstances.

@LittleGoldie: I'm extremely familiar with the gaslighting technique from having been emotionally abused. And being so familiar with it, I picked up on "the whipsaw effect" right away. So it's a flaw in Rapunzel not to see how she is being saddled with a guilt that isn't hers. Rapunzel goes a very long time "knowing" that something is wrong and "off," and only figures it out much later. I recognize this, because I had the exact same flaw as Rapunzel.

^ I disagree @wavesurf. When you are raised by someone your whole life, from the time when you are an infant, when you cant remember anything, its very hard to see if someone is lying to you about your upbringing. Rapunzel saw Gothel as her mother. She taught her everything she knew. People are impacted by their parents and how hey are raised. How is she supposed to assume that Gothel is manipulating her, just because we as an audience do? How does Rapunzel know something is "off"? We aren't in her situation so I don't think its fair to assume that she speculated that Gothel was evil. We could all be being played right now by our parens but we wouldn't have a clue because we are affected by them, and we don't go looking for signs that they are tricking us. She shouldn't be blamed for not realizing Gothel was evil.

I'm going to talk about Ariel because i picked her. She KNEW Ursula was a sea witch. She knew the dangers of Ursula based on the history between her and her kingdom but still made a reckless decision. Yes she didn't know the extent of Ursulas plan, but she should've known not to trust her, as of her reputation. Rapunzel didn't know a thing which is why I don't see Rapuznel trusting Gothel as a flaw.

This is stupid. She already know the witch is evil, so why she trusting her instead to believing her father or Sebastian? I don't get it. She's just never think the consequence of what she decide to do. It would be better if she use another way, if she really want to become human.

Also Snow White. Same case as Ariel's. And about Rapunzel, I agree with coolsinger198.

neither of these actually...these all just make them human. I can understand why they what did in each of these situations. So none really, but if i have to pick one.

@Coolsinger198: I already know your point of view about both Rapunzel and about Ariel, and I firmly disagree with your reasoning. I will continue to disagree with you, no matter how many times you say it.

@Disnerdtobe: Being the one who "failed" to see the warning signs of the abuser, is really painful. And taken that support groups and therapy always teach you the warning signs after the fact when the damage has already been done...is even more humbling to the victim. It's like the "blinders" fall off and you weren't even aware how blind you were. Yes, I'm glad Rapunzel had the resilience to bounce back from it. But I do wish, just as I wished for myself, that I could have recognized this vicious pattern sooner. It was a flaw in myself, because I knew something was wrong all along. I could have acted sooner and perhaps learned how to mitigate my role in the proceedings. From my perspective, having lived this Rapunzel could have acted sooner, too.

The only thing of note, would be that by taking away Rapunzel's naivety--- there would simply be no movie. It's the same deal with Ariel, Snow White, and a bunch of the other princesses.

Mostly what bothers me is that once she fed Elinor the cake, she kept pestering her about the marriage for a good couple minutes.

This and the deal with Ariel and Pocahontas and Merida.

@wavesurf Hi again.:) I'm not trying to convince you to change your opinion; I'm just saying what I feel about the situation. And like you said, you only realized the manipulation signs after support groups and therapy, not beforehand. That being said, Rapunzel actually couldn't have acted sooner in my opinion because she was only raised one way, and she wasn't raised to see the signs. Now that you see them ( the signs) after therapy, you have learned, but Rapunzel didn't. I understand its from your perspective, but Rapunzel is a different character. Agree to disagree though!

And of course Merida is in the lead....Of course...Like usual, in Fanpop, you all just hate her because your overlord orders you to do it.

^^What overlord has ordered us to hate/dislike Merida? I hate her, but I don't care if other people like her as long as they respect my opinion. You know, sometimes you just have an unpopular opinion. I mean in the Star Wars fandom I'm one of the very few Jar Jar Binks fans, but I'm not going to get offended because most fans hate/dislike him.

I apologise, @wavesurf; I obviously had no idea that you had been emotionally abused. I was giving my opinion on something that I did not realize you understood perfectly well, and I apologise if it came off as preachy or condensing. I did not mean to cause any offence or upset.

I must be the only one who actually likes Merida while voting for this one. But it did bother me. It was tough to choose between this, Ariel's and Belle's but Belle's is the least morally offensive, even though it's always bugged me because it reminds me of all these nerds and "edgy" kids who act like they're too good to mingle with different people yet act like they're oppressed or something.

And that's a good point about Rapunzel. Why is she the only one consistently NOT on these lists? If she was I'd probably pick her deceiving Gothel while acknowledging how immoral lying is. One thing I can't stand is going back on your own morals, especially while you claim to be the one in the right. Besides that, you could just list how she wastes her time and effort traveling to Corona and never finds out who does the lantern thing.

It doesn't bother me that Rapunzel deceived Gothel because it was her one way to escape her tower and gain the freedom she'd needed for so long - Gothel had just screamed at her that she could never ever leave the tower, after all. She found out from Eugene who did the lantern thing, if I remember correctly, while he was lying on his face in her tower... and she went to Corona in order to witness the release of the lanterns.

It was disgusting.
