It is insane how much my preferences have changed as I got older. Jasmine, Aurora, Ariel, and Pocahontas were my favorites growing up and Snow White was my least favorite, but my opinions have changed a lot.

I still love all of the princesses a lot and they made up my childhood. <3

Mulan? Seriously?

Anyway she's my favorite as well. And you forgot to include Cinderella and Merida, also Moana isn't official one I think.

^sunnyfields is only doing his/her top 10 princesses as said in the title. If Elsa and Anna can be in the poll then so can Moana.

We don't have a lot in common. I love Mulan and Ariel, and they are in the bottom of your list, here. The rest of the girls, and Anna, are in the middle for me. Pocahontas is my #4 at present. So this is closest, I guess.

I'm not keen on ( Elsa and Moana), and here they are ranked higher than Mulan is, which for me... would never happen. In my humble opinion, Mulan runs circles around Elsa and Moana. Elsa and Moana are overcome by fear and hesitation over rule-breaking. That really gets rid of my enthusiasm for them.

^ wavesurf I really appreciate your honest opinion. I really do love Mulan, but a lot of my favorite princesses are ones that I relate to the most as I can empathize with their situations and how they react.

I have struggled a lot with anxiety throughout my life, and I am learning to be more optimistic and positive despite my fears and hesitation. In this way, I relate to Elsa and Moana.

Mulan was so brave, and I love that she risked everything to protect her family, but I personally don't relate as much to her. Ariel was also a risk taker, and I have definitely become more hesitant over the years. Ariel was one of my favorites when I was young and carefree, but I have grown weary of the outside world as I have been sheltered most of my life and hurt too many times.

Sorry for my venting. I really appreciate all of your comments. :)

I also have Anna high, but not quite that high.

Also, I get what you said about Elsa and Moana as well. I don't like causing problems for other people, or making them unhappy.
In this way, they are realistic. They also have to take so much responsibility, and I admire them for overcoming that fear and hesitation.

@Sunnyfields: I'm the reverse, I guess. When I was younger, I tried to run away from my responsibilities, just like Elsa and Moana both do... and it didn't work for me. The movies for those characters also show that "running away" doesn't work for Elsa or Moana, either.

I don't relate to Elsa or Moana at all, because of this. And I'm now more like Ariel, Mulan, and Esmeralda-- females who face their problems and try to be braver. They don't seem to back down.

The mean world taught me one lesson: just because others hurt you, and knock you down, doesn't mean they win against you.

^ wavesurf I agree that the world should not have any power over you, and I am slowly learning to become more confident again. As you mentioned, Elsa and Moana learned that running away from their fears was not the best decision in their lives, and they have been inspiring to me as I am overcoming my own fears as I know living in fear is no way to live.

MalloMar I agree that Elsa and Moana are realistic and admirable for overcoming their fears. They truly have inspired me in my own life even though they are not ranked highly on my list.

Oh wow, our lists are very different lol. Mulan is my favorite princess. Ariel is my second favorite. I also like Moana a lot. So I disagree with those the most. Anna would also be much lower for me. I also I would have placed Elsa lower, but she's the one I agree with the most on here. I don't care too much for Elsa. I also agree with Aroura's placement.

But hey, different opinions are what make things interesting lol.

Wow our lists are super different! Thanks for sharing your top 10. My top 3, if we're including Anna, Elsa, and Moana, are Belle, Moana, and Tiana, and Rapunzel and Anna are my least favorites, so it seems like we have pretty different opinions. It's great how many different perspectives on the DPs we get on this club! I will definitely go check out your article. :)

It is definitely nice hearing about different opinions and why we each have our own preferences. :D

I do like ALL the princesses, but sometimes I find their flaws, like Merida getting upset at the witch when it was herself that made the mistake of trying to change her mother, to make me like them less than other characters.

I may be a little idealistic at times, but I like characters that are uplifting and kind that can inspire me in my real life. :)
