I like the idea of countdowns but they've starting blurring together for me and I'm just so confused at this point.

I'm ok with it, it makes this fan club alive

EDIT: Oops just realized i wrote 3 whole paragraphs writing about a completely different topic. I thought the question was asking if the countdown picks were annoying. My bad lol

Anyway I am having some issues with keeping up with them, because there's quite alot now. But i think that might only be because I havent been on fanpop much for the past couple of days so ive missed a couple of countdowns. I do try to keep up though.

Overall, I love countdown polls and i take part in every single one that i see because theyre so interesting.

i used to come to fanpop every single day, now i STOPPED COMING HERE, because everytime i come , there is this boring "countdown" thing.

so stop this madness and let's get back our old disney fan club.

I actually have 2 countdowns right now in the Disney spot. One is supporting characters (well sidekicks basically?) and the other has 3 parts. The one with 3 parts is a Renaissance songs countdown, a Classic songs countdown and a Modern songs countdown. The renaissance songs countdown has 58 options, the classic songs countdown has 62 options and the modern songs countdown has 60 options. Also, my sidekicks countdown has 60 options. You dont understand how long it took me to find that many pictures, honestly. Thats over 200 pictures. I know thats my own problem, but alot of thought went into my countdowns and it makes me feel so paranoid when i hear someone say that they want the countdowns to disappear and for the "old disney fan club" to come back. I mean, wtf?? It took me over a month to organize these countdowns and to find out that people dont even like them just upsets me.

I understand that theres a bit too many now. For example, Ive seen about 502 'hottest disney princess' countdowns. But to be honest, this was on various clubs, not just the Princess club. And it is hard to keep up with all of them. But the 'sudden rush' of countdowns has happened in the last week or so, whereas my countdowns have been organized for over a month now.

It took me a lot of hard work to get all those pictures and organize what songs to use, what characters to use etc.. and if people dont even appreciate them i might aswell just delete those 200 pictures i found that literally took me about a month to find and put together. I thought people would be happy with them, but obviously not.

However, my countdown picks are all in the Disney club. Theyre not in the disney princess club. I just find them really interesting. What song or character or whatever is the general least favourite etc.. I also like the article that people do at the end of each countdown... that means that old AND new users can view these articles and think "oh, so these are the favourite princesses of people on fanpop? ill fit in here!" etc etc.. if you know what i mean?

I enjoy countdowns, theyre actually my favourite sort of pick because i just find them so interesting. A little competitive, but interesting all the same. I know we all have different tastes, but if you dont like the countdown picks then just ignore them because to be honest, theres not THAT many. Theres more than theyre used to be but theres not 100's. It wont take long to just skim past them and look at the rest of your updates.

Sorry didnt mean to write an essay haha but i put so much effort into my picks and now i find out that no one appreciates them so whats the point :(

I agree with Mongoose09, I love countdowns and am a big countdown fan. However, I think there are a few too many countdowns right now and things should go a bit slower so it is easier for Fanpop users to spend more time commenting on the picks. It is not as though everyone is going to leave Fanpop or that Fanpop will shut down in six months so we have to rush everything out at once.

I would suggest spreading out the countdowns more and letting Fanpop users enjoy them and make good, high-quality comments. And I feel offended by those who want countdowns to end since I was an early countdown maker, and I mostly post countdowns on the Disney spot rather than the Disney Princess spot, but I only post one countdown at a time, currently Kindest Heroines. I put a lot of heart into my countdowns and if no one appreciates them, all my effort is worth nothing.

I feel the same way as Mongoose09 about my length of writing and on some of these issues, sorry to write so long, but I want countdowns to continue badly but not so many at a time, preferably no more than five countdowns on one spot at a time as a suggestion to slow down the countdowns and spread the joy of countdowns for all of time.

I love when there's a lot of new picks every day. So if it's some countdown, why not? :)

I like the countdowns. It's nice to know the opinions of others. There are quite a few circulating at the moment, but I think they're fun and I don't mind there being so many. =)

and i really appreciate ur hard working.


but the problem is that those countdowns are too many, i can't catch up with them, there ARE more than 20 countdowns right now (i could be wrong)
right now i'm missing all of them even the ones that i like because if i missed one of them, someone else will make THE SAME countdown and then another ect...
favorite eyes, favorite song, favorite, favorite favorite......
until it became boring, and everytime i read the word "countdown" i don't even consider answering that question.....
i usually read the articles but NEVER be a part of the countdown even if i wanted to prove myself right....


and please understand that i'm not trying to hurt somebody's feelings but i think we need to start something new.... maybe it's just me right now but soon the whole "countdown" thing will be boring for a lot of people.

Hindaa I understand that. Ive seen literally so many of the same countdown (mostly most attractive Princess) but to be honest, these were all on different clubs. One was on Disney, one on Disney Princess, one on Disney leading females, etc.. which I think its fine because each club would come out with different opinions. But I suppose it does get a bit much.

I'm not gonna stop doing countdowns, to be honest, because I've already started. People might enjoy doing them for all I know, so Im definately not gonna stop. Im also intrigued and fascinated about who/what is gonna win my polls.

And I try to make my countdowns different. Hindaa correct me if im wrong but i havent seen any song countdowns? The only song countdowns i saw were ones based on individual movies (like Cinderella songs countdown part 1) etc, but thats fine because the user who posts them tends to post it when theres not many other countdowns available at the time so it doesnt get caught up in the jumble, if that makes sense? So I thought I'd do one with ALL the songs (well most, if i did all of the songs there'd be like 50000 countdowns lol) so i organized them as Renaissance, Classic and Modern to get a more varied opinion. Its better than putting 200 songs into one pick right? lol.. and anyway, i do like countdown polls and to be honest i wont get bored of them because there my favourite thing on fanpop right now.

thank you for understanding though, but several of us do put alot of effort into our countdowns. for example, me AllegroGiocoso and Princesslullaby. there are others aswell that put alot of effort into countdowns, infact most people do. so i dont see any problem with it, except for the fact that alot of people post it at the same time so it DOES get a bit jumbled. if it was spaced out a bit more than it would be a bit better.

the reason why i post my 3 parts at the same time (renaissance, classic and modern) is because i find it more fair because theyre part of the same thing really.

So I was just reading all these long-winded comments. I just wanted to clarify that I wasn't at all implying that people should stop making countdowns. Mongoose09, I totally understand the lengthy process of finding just the right pictures...thats always the hardest part for me whenever i make a pick.

I guess my biggest beef is that I'm not always on fanpop daily and countdowns have closing dates (as they should). So quite often I've already missed out on 2 parts of a countdown. And if I'm not the only one who misses out, some of them could be slighftly inaccurate. I'd rather know i had a part in the results every step of the way rather than just arbitrary, intermittent votes.

However I do greatly appreciate the result summary articles. I do think the countdowns would be utterly pointless without them. Although, because our feedback go into these articles, I want to leave thoughtful, insightful comments but there are so many topics at once and with only a day to get through them all....I've fallen behind.

I'm right there with you, alafastanzio. I answer them if they're still open, but I won't go out of my way to get to them before they end.

I can't always keep up.

I can't get on fanpop as much as I used to, so I keep missing some of them :(

But I do like countdowns :)
