Anyways, I just see Mulan as a better soldier because she passed everyone in camp in skill level over the duration of what I'm going to say is a few weeks, maybe a month.

Scarily, I was actually thinking of asking this yesterday.

I think Mulan. Whereas Shang has all that experience physically, Mulan has the mindset required for a soldier. Just because she's not the toughest doesn't mean she can't overpower her enemies and outsmart them. That's what makes a good soldier - it's not how hard you hit but where you hit them.

Mulan was woman in the Chinese army. While in theory she may have been restricted by certain prejudices of women in the army, she didn't have any of those prejudices herself. She did what she could with the resources she had and she didn't care to think whether it fit the code or not.

Well, and when you think about it, she DID more...she created the avalanche that destroyed most of the Huns, saved Shang, and then defeated Shan Yu...but both are very brave soldiers IMO.
