WinterSpirit809 picked Elsa:
I think it's more of the way people tear down great princesses to make her look better. I get she suffers from anxiety and blah, blah blah, and so do I, but I don't see as how that's any excuse to a lot of things she did- or didn't do. She refused to at least fix her problems and she didn't look one bit apologetic and all she cared about was herself. Anna too, but what about people who were freezing in Arendelle? I don't see how Elsa is such a good "role model" for people with anxiety, when she didn't solve her problems, but it was solved for her. I think she's annoying and I don't like her one bit anymore.

This poll countdown will become an article so the more comments and detailed (like WinterSpirit809 did), the better. I recommend posting comments not only about the DP you want to eliminate but feel free to mention why you think a DP should not be eliminated... (primarily if they are getting many votes). Let's everyone be respectful though, the DPs aren't real! ;)

tiffany88 picked Merida:
She is against everything that makes a DP, DP. She is a joke of a true Princess. She do not wanted to do her responsibilities, her studies that makes a Princess a Princess. She was always against her mother just because why not. She is a rebel without a good reason. She didn't care about her town, her people or her family at all. I hate this kind of brainless, spoiled teenage attitude. I just can't help but really really dislike her :/ I really do not understand why is she part of the DP line up.

Not for nit-picking but maybe you shouldn't count Elsa and Anna. They're not part of the official DP line up. And this spot is only for the official DPs. Just a suggestion.

She seems the most mean spirited of the princesses. For example the fact that she doesn't care that not going through with a triditional arranged marriage would start a war and that she wants to "change" her mother.

To tell you the truth...I wish the Feminazis hadn't gotten to Disney and really co-opted the entire "feminism" argument. Frozen became their big fat expletive finger to every other Disney movie ( not just the DP ones). I have never understood the fascination with Elsa at all. I never understood why ( once her parents died) she would not forego the imposed separation set up by deceased parents--- and come on, explain to your sis what the hell happened to you. Nope, Elsa just takes off and runs for the hills. I also hate that she acts like such a wimp when it is revealed (albeit lousily) that Hans is about to kill her. Elsa doesn't even stand up to Hans to defend her turf (Arendelle) from his hands... Talk about taking the enthusiasm right out of it for me... She's a queen with ice powers, and she won't protect her nation? What kind of monarch is that?

MaidofOrleans picked Rapunzel:
I'm not a fan of Rapunzel, never have been. She comes across as a Mary-Sue to me, something none of the other princesses come across as in my opinion. She also feels like she is being shoved in your face: LOOK AT HOW RELATABLE AND QUIRKY AND CUTE SHE IS, and I hate it when movies do that. Personally I don't find her development to be all that realistic (she should be waaayyy more socially awkward after having spent her entire life only in the company of one other human being). She's just not very realistic, and her ditsiness and bubblyness make her like a piece of candy that's too sweet to enjoy.

anukriti2409 picked Elsa:
For poorly developed character and lack of good reason for her to lose control out of blue in the coronation. I don't enjoy her much because there's no arc in her character - she majorly stays scared the entire movie. The only bit where we see a different side is in Let It Go. I could have appreciated if at least in the climax she could have actually done something, rather than just running away again.

I understand Merida is selfish and bratty and many times whines about not getting her way. But she's the only princess who's ever shown to actually take lessons, in however unenthusiastic way. I haven't seen a single DP taking any lessons that makes them so eligible of being a princess. Plus she has learned important skills of weaponry, horse riding, hiking, have a far better knowledge of her kingdom than any other princess. I don't see any other princess taking any of these lessons either.
This is one of the most lame excuse to not like any princess, I have ever heard.

Evera picked Anna:
Elsa, bah, predictable. The majority's opinions in DP are still the same. I know she has somewhat a poor development compared to other DP who are the main characters, but still, why won't you admit that in her lack of screen time, she is still has more development compared to Aurora or Jasmine? She also left her kingdom, such an irresponsible Queen, blah blah blah. What will you do if you are in her position? Unintentionally causing the problem (including harming your own family member), everyone saw you as a monster and even wanted to kill you, and you will still think you can solve them? I see that she is more like a victim of her parents. They built her to be fear of her powers and told her to conceal instead of controlling them or facing her fears. But o'well, that those opinions are yours. Pardon my words, but what I only hope is that you're not actually disliking her because you're envying the fact that she is the most popular (unofficial) DP in worldwide.

Yes, my least favorite DP is Anna, my favorite's sister. Same as @ajotma, I think she is annoying and her humor or awkwardness are forced. The idea of her getting married to a man she's just met disgusts me. Worse, it is intended to ridicule the old DP. Her scenes without the Ice Queen is boring. As the matter of fact, she is the main character of the movie and I think she has no development. She's still bringing new guy she's just met, only this time she's lucky that he ain't bad like the predecessor. Worst of all, she has nothing new in her character! She's as dull as a block of ice that has not been crafted yet by Elsa. Hopeless romantic? Old DP. Cheerful, optimistic, and quirky? Ariel and Rapunzel. Daring? Merida's movie even titled Brave. True love things? Belle. Plainly, without her sister, her existence is meaningless.

She seemed EXTREMELY selfish to me during the movie. She didn't seem to care about anyone else, and she was even willing to completely change her mom just so she didn't have to get married. Not a big fan of Elsa either, but Elsa just didn't want to hurt anyone. Merida's situation was nothing compared to Elsa's, which is why I cut Elsa some slack.

TheMusicalMolls picked Aurora:
I picked Aurora because she is so bland, just a cookie-cutter Princess with hardly any personality at all. She's pretty and graceful, yes, but when it comes to building a good, interesting character, you have to add some, well, character!

I also dislike Elsa. When it comes to Elsa, the world seems to be screaming, "LOOK AT ELSA! SHE'S THE COOL, BRAVE, INDEPENDENT, STRONG, PERFECT FEMINIST WHO DOESN'T NEED A MAN!" I'm sick of hearing about how "brave" and "independent" she is, because she is given responsibility as a Queen, and what does she do? Goes into the mountains to build an ice castle and be alone while Arendelle slowly freezes to death! Independent, yes, but what good is that, given the circumstances? It was also probably her parents' fault since they got the idea in her head to try to hide her powers (but, after 13 years of trying to hide it and failing, don't you think they would have realized that they may have needed another plan?) To me she is more of a coward than Snow White. And maybe she's just poorly written, because for someone who "cares" so much about her sister (whom she hasn't seen in 13 years, how can that REALLY be a good relationship?) she doesn't show it too much, always trying to push her away and never trying to get to know her.

And Merida. She seems like Disney's failed attempt at making a tomboy princess, trying to come off as brave, strong and independent, but instead looking like a spoiled teenager who avoids responsibility and resents her parents.

Hey everyone, I understand comments about certain DPs can get really annoying but please just remember that this countdown is for your least favorite DP and why. Not your least favorite DP criticisms and praises. :) I'd appreciate comments that focus more on the DPs themselves than the fans who praise or complain about them (since that's not really relative to the countdown). Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. :D

AaronHaley4ever picked Elsa:
I try so hard to like Elsa, but I just don't...at all. She's quite negative and wallowing! It seems like she spends all but the first and last few minutes feeling sorry for herself, and I just have very little patience for self-pity. Instead if accepting her powers and trying to find a good use for them, she considers herself a "danger to Arendelle" and lets her powers completely define her. All her grace, selflessness, maturity, etc. that she's praised for stems from one thing: her fear of her ice powers. She allows her fears to conquer her instead of the other way around, so much so that it causes her to freeze Anna's heart and nearly kill the Duke of Weselton's guards, and she gives up far too easily. Instead of trying to fix her mistake after she loses control, she runs away. When Anna tries to convince her to come back (and again later when Hans asks her to stop the winter), her response is "I can't!" Even when she's brought back to Arendelle to answer for her actions, she still makes little effort to put things right and winds up running away again.

I don't think Elsa is quite as selfless as people say. While I do think she genuinely believed (or at least wanted to believe) that she was acting in Anna's best interest, I see an element of selfishness in her choice to continue to isolate herself after her parents' deaths rather than face her fears, and it bothers me a bit that she isn't honest with herself about it. If Elsa had been an only child or if she and Anna lived miles away and had seperate lives, I would be more accepting of her choice, but I think it was the wrong thing to do in this case because isolating herself also meant isolating Anna. I'm also astounded that it took her so long to see what a negative effect the isolation had on Anna. She stayed locked in her room after her parents' deaths despite Anna's pleas and didn't seem to understand her need for social interaction when she asked to marry Hans, not even when she said, "I can't live like this anymore!" Even when Anna followed her to the ice castle, she still tried to push her away, and it makes me wonder whether ir not she would've ever understood Anna's point of view had she not sacrificed herself to save Elsa.

All that aside, the thing I dislike most about Elsa (and I know most people will probably think this a bad reason) is that she reminds me of myself in the worst possible way. I used to be very pessimistic, wallowing, and insecure, isolated myself, let fear rule my life, and ran away from my problems, though I did eventually wind up realizing the effect my attitude had on others and decided I didn't want to be that kind of person. Watching Elsa make the same mistakes I did always makes me sad to think that one day she'll have a lot of regrets over the choices she made and ashamed to remember a time when I made those same choices.

* Sorry that was so longwinded, and I'm especially sorry if I offended anyone by speaking my mind. It wasn't my intention :) *

3xZ picked Elsa:
People frequently remember her fantastic music video only, forgetting what a narrow-minded, brainless, coward she is in whole movie. Narrow-minded for didn't want to listen to her supportive sister. Brainless for being like a machine who had received a comment then follow no matter what, and couldn't/won't find a better way to solve the problem. Cowardice she is for her ill judgement of running away from her problem. In addition, Elsa never apologise to Anna after all she had done to her. From making Anna sad to striking Anna's heart, accidentally. Still, when I have warned someone now to stay close to me and I accidentally harm her/him, especially my loving sister, I will apologise although, maybe, I'll also say, 'Told you.' Furthermore, I hate how Disney try to develop her 'bright, fun' side just to make this two-dimensional character seems perfect. Agree with WinterSpirit809 about she didn’t solve her problem. Her problem was solved for her.

Merida may be a selfish, spoiled, and so on in the beginning. But she changed in the end. She becomes a better person. I salute her bravery for admitting her fault and apologised for it. Moreover, I love her relationship with her triplet brothers and adore her skills in weapon fighting and horse riding.

ace2000 picked Elsa:
Elsa didn't mean to do any harm. That's why she stayed in her room for years even though she was aching from loneliness - to prevent her sister and other people from discovering or getting harmed by her ice powers. But she did end up revealing her powers, and she flees Arendelle after her own people begin to call her a monster. I don't blame her for that. I would run away too, even if I had responsibilities as queen, if my kingdom was threatening to kill me.

But when she hears from her sister Anna that she's put Arendelle in a deep freeze and that she must return, she shuns Anna and continues to stay away from Arendelle, rather than facing the issue like a mature adult - she is 21 and I consider people 20 and over to be adults. She admittedly doesn't know how to reverse what she has done, but the fact that she doesn't even make any effort strikes me as irresponsible, despite the fact that she is disturbed and extremely flustered at what she has done.

She also sends a huge snow monster after her sister to chase her away. I think that the issue would have been better resolved with mature talk instead of blatant force. Anna could have actually gotten hurt, and this makes me rethink: is Elsa more concerned about herself now that she's decided "the past is in the past" and that she's never returning to Arendelle, or her sister, the sole surviving member (as far as the movie shows) of her family?

I'm not a huge fan of Merida, either, but she takes responsibility for her actions. She fixes what she has damaged on her own. Elsa doesn't go back to Arendelle because she wants to. And I think Elsa should want to; she should want to reverse the damage and pain she is causing her people, and if this is not greeted respectfully and gratefully, if people still think she's a monster and are constantly wanting to assassinate her, she would have more reason to leave.

Deciding not to save people, as Elsa did, is just as bad as harming people, as Merida did. The difference between them is that Merida assumes responsibility and Elsa doesn't. And I can't bear an irresponsible princess.
