Dear Diary,
Hi! My name is Kat. This is my first araw in melokoton Creek. I’ve already made mga kaibigan with a cool girl named Nazz. She introduced me to some of the other kids who live here. But she never mentioned him…I first saw him as I gazed dreamily out my window. The most beautiful boy I have ever set my eyes on. His windchime voice sounds: he’s calling to his guys. I heard someone call him Double – D. If only he liked me…
*******************
"Hey Kat!" Nazz shouted. "Hey!" she yelled back. "Nazz, who were those three guys with all the pasko stuff?" "Oh, just Ed, Edd, and Eddy." "Which one of them wears the black cap?" "Oh, that’s Edd, Double – D. Why?" "Oh, no reason." Nazz saw right through her new friend’s question. "Do you have a crush on him, Kat?" What did she have to lose? "Yeah." confessed Kat. "He doesn’t have a girlfriend, you don’t have a boyfriend, so let’s take care of that!"

Dear Diary,
I’m back! Double – D is everything I’ve dreamed of! Every guy I’ve ever liked before would always rather ‘be friends’. But for the first time ever, the guy I love, the guy I can’t put out of my mind, agreed to go out with me!!! I’ve never loved anyone madami than I’ve loved him. Double – D, I can’t wait to see you again.
*******************
"What’s with this heat???" Eddy pleaded aloud as the temperature reached a scorching 102o . "Plank is getting sunburned!" Jonny moaned in a panic. Nazz came up with an idea. "Let’s cool off at the creek." Everyone cheered and ran back to their homes to put on their swimsuits. Jimmy called to Sarah, "We can practice our synchronized swimming!"
As the sun started to set, most of the kids went home. Only two remained. Sitting on the sandy bank of the creek, Double – D and Kat stayed, watching the sun gleam off the water as it lapped against the shore.
Shyly, slowly, Double – D reached his arm back to put it around Kat. What if she doesn’t like it? What if she doesn’t like me? What if she thinks I’m a nerd? Double – D came up with all sorts of ‘what if’ horrors. But something brought him back to reality. "Double – D, you’re shivering! Are you cold?" Kat asked, putting her arm around him. Well, he realized, I guess that sagot my inquiry. Fourth of July fireworks lit up the sky for the perfect night.

Dear Diary,
Double – D actually put his arm around me! I put mine around him first, but he looked cold. I’ll never wash this arm again. Well, I took a paliguan when I got up this morning, but I guess that’s alright. He asked me to meet him in the park, anyway. Another chance to be with my belov-EDD.
*******************
"Hello, Katharine, would you like to go to Eddy’s cookout with me tonight?" "Double – D, just call me Kat. Katharine’s too long. But, sure, I’d pag-ibig to go with you." When he asked her that question, Double – D seemed to be faultless. When he smiled at her, revealing the gap between his teeth, looked even madami breath taking than ever before.
That night at Eddy’s, the kulay-rosas sunset cloaked the cul-de-sac as Ed and Eddy cooked sizzling burgers on the grill. Eddy had a stereo blasting out songs, with the occasional slow one. Just as Nazz leaned in to plant a quick halik on Eddy’s cheek, Ed yelled, "Gravy!" making everyone jump. It was nearly impossible to have a romantic evening with Ed around. Eddy was furious. His one chance with Nazz. Gone because of Ed.
"Thanks a lot, Monobrow!" Eddy shouted back at Ed. "But Eddy, she was trying to suck out your brain, like the monster in ‘Bok, Defender of the Bunion People!’ The monster went…" "Shut up, Ed." Already fed up with Ed’s sarsa obsession, the last thing he wanted was to be embarrassed madami sa pamamagitan ng a warped lecture about a cheap monster movie. To avoid it, Eddy dashed over to the stereo and popped in another disc. "Kudos to my brother for finding these sweet CDs. Before he went away."
The song began instantly catching Kat’s attention. My paborito song, ‘Here’s to the Night’ sa pamamagitan ng Eve 6! "Double – D," she asked hazily, "Want to dance?" "Why, yes!" he answered, thrilled.
"So denied, so I lied
are you the now or never kind?
In a day, and a day, love
I’m gonna be gone for good again.
Here’s a toast
"BUTTERED TOAST!" interrupted Ed.
To all those who hear me all too well
And here’s to the nights
We felt alive
And here’s to the tears you knew you’d cry
And here’s to goodbye
Tomorrow’s gonna come too soon."
As they continued to dance, Kat and Double – D looked into each other’s eyes. "Double – D, you’re the only guy who’s ever liked me. And I’ve never felt this way about anyone else."
"I feel the same way," Double – D answered.
The song ended, and the party broke up. "Cookies and Milk!" chanted Ed, as a final flourish. "Double – D, come with me!"
"Now?" Double – D sounded shocked.
"To the park!" Kat continued. "It’s summer. It isn’t that dark out."
"But I need to be tahanan in 10 minutes! I always keep my curfew." Double – D was worried. He had never stayed out past curfew in his 16 years.
"Your mom won’t notice if you’re a few minutos late. She’ll let it slide just once."
It was a well-known fact in melokoton Creek that the park was where people went to make out. A cool breeze blew through the air as they treaded through the soft damo in the direction of the softball field.

Dear Diary,
After Eddy’s cookout, Double- D and I went to the park to watch the sun go down. We walked across the softball court in silence, just thinking about everything that’s happened over the past couple weeks. We stepped onto the field from off to the side. The two of us came together to first base, segundo base, third base, and somewhat hesitantly, to tahanan plate. Thinking about the symbolism in the walk around the bases, there wasn’t much left to say.
*******************
The susunod Day… "Edward!" Double – D’s mom called from downstairs.
"Yes mother?" he answered, obediently. A stern look from her told him she was not bearing good news. "Edward, who was that girl with you in the park last night?"
Double – D’s puso was in his throat. He was cold busted and knew it. Wishing to protect the girl who had become such a part of his world and himself in such a short time, Double – D decided that a silence was better than a lie. This was just as well, because he was paralyzed with fear from the brain down.
"Edward, this girl has changed you. Where is my responsible Edward? Instead I have a reckless party-going son."
"B-b-but sh-she was k-k-k-kind to me-me." Double – D managed to get the words out.
"That coquette is just using you. It isn’t kindness, it’s guile! She doesn’t pag-ibig you."
That last sentence hit Double – D where it hurt. He looked up at his mother with questioning eyes. "Edward, this is for you own protection. She is poisoning your mind, and I never want you to see her again."

Dear Diary,
Double – D’s mother thinks I’m a bad influence and never wants Double – D to see me again. I pag-ibig him madami than I can describe in words. If it’s wrong to pag-ibig someone, what good is life? Life is empty without love. And pag-ibig is empty without Double – D. No matter what she says, I will find a way to see my one and only love.
*******************
Tap! "Whatwasthat?" Double – D whispered, sitting bolt upright in bed. "I believe the pinagmulan of the clamor was near the window." Double – D opened the window, and looked out to see Kat on the ground below his window.
"Hey, Double – D!" she called up to him.
"Kat, mother and father will be furious if they know you’re here at this hour! Mother told me if she saw you near me again, she’d… oh, I don’t even want to imagine. And how do you propose to get up here?"
"I can climb the lattice. I saw this in a movie once."
That’s something I’d expect from Ed, Double – D thought.
To Kat’s surprise, the climbing the lattice was much harder to do than it had appeared to in the movie. It was too flimsy and wobbled around every time she tried to move. Finally, she made it to the top. "Hello, Kat." Whispered Double – D, polite to the end. "Hi," she answered.

Dear Diary,
Last night was the best night I’ve ever had. I climbed a lattice into Double – D’s room, and we talked and put on the radio and some candles. Then, "Here’s to the Night" started to play, and we danced. When the song was over, we made out. He is the sweetest boy I’ve ever known; and he seemed totally careful and even a little nervous. I pag-ibig Double – D so much. Even though his mother tries to keep us apart, she can never keep my pag-ibig out.
*******************
Without Kat around, she still occupied much of Double-D’s mind, but he had other things on his mind. For one thing, He seemed madami concerned than ever about being clean and being perfect. Before getting in bed, he had to feel his sheets to make sure they were clean. Before taking a bath, he had to check the water to make sure it was clean. Everything had to be in perfect order. To his mother, this was just careful Edward back to normal.
Kat and Double – D still managed to see each other sometimes, and continued to pag-ibig each other, but keeping everything such a secret was nearly impossible. And Kat was also noticing changes in Double – D.

Dear Diary,
Something is different about Double – D. He’s still the Double – D I fell in pag-ibig with, but there’s something different. He seems to be his slave, shackled in chains of his own making. Everything has to be clean and orderly. He expects himself to always be a 10 out of 10 and anything less is an unspeakable failure. I’ve tried to tell him he doesn’t need to be perfect, but he doesn’t seem to believe me. But he is perfect to me.
