As they approached the outside of the shop, they heard a lot of commotion coming from inside. The walked in, and saw all of the mga hayop arguing with eachother, yelling, and even some of them were throwing some of the tindahan gifts at eachother. Skipper rolled his eyes at the sight, and Rico threw up a mini blackboard, which Skipper ran his beak down, making an awful squealing noise. All of the mga hayop stopped and covered their ears.
"Now, there's no point in arguing with eachother, it's not going to help find the truth." Skipper began, putting his flippers behind his back. "We need everyone questioned individually, and we will find whoever has done this."
"Well how do we know it wasn't one of you?" Roy asked, looking suspicious
"You don't, which is why we will be questioned as well." Skipper answered coolly. Skipper turned to Emma. "I need you to keep an eye out for small signs in there voice or body language, you're good at pagbaba people." He whispered to her.
"Ok." She whispered back, and Kowalski gave her his clipboard to use, for notes. As Skipper called up the fist person, which was Burt, Emma watched him carefully, looking for any signs that he was lying. She highly doubted that it was Burt, for a few reasons. One, he's too large to go through all of the habitats quickly, and stealthily, and two, he's not the mischief making type. So she focused on some of the other animals. She suspected Julien, but he didn't have the brains to mess up his own habitat so it didn't look like it was him. Although it could have bee Maurice that trashed the lemur habitat, to protect Julien. She had made a little mesa with all of the mga hayop on, and a Yes, No and Maybe box. She ticked No for Burt, and Maybe for the lemurs. After a while of questioning the other animals, it was Emma's turn to be questioned, and so it would be fair, she was questioned sa pamamagitan ng Mason instead of Skipper.
"Now where were you between the hours of 3pm, and 6pm?" He asked.
"I was in the lab in our HQ with Kowalski." Emma answered.
"What were you doing in there?" He questioned.
"Making an invention." Emma answered, neutrally.
"Is it possible that you could have sneaked outside and trashed the habitats?" Mason asked.
"No, first of all, I've been in there all day, secondly, I throw things with my left flipper, and I can't because I burnt it, and picking things up hurts." Emma explained, holing up her bandaged flipper.
"Ok, then, ilipat along." Mason instructed and she sat back down. Emma scanned the animals, trying to rule some of them out. She looked at her list, so far, most of them were on no, with a few on maybe. (The Lemurs and Bada and Bing, Barry, with help from someone else maybe, because he wouldn't have the strength to carry the fruit, but he was really mischievous.) Emma looked at the list, and the gagamba monkey was next. She looked up, and scanned for him. Then alarm bells rang in her head. He was nowhere to be seen.
"Urm, everyone, the gagamba monkey is missing." She pointed out. The mga hayop looked around, and realised that Emma was right.
"Emma, Kowalski, Rico, go and find him." Skipper instructed.
"Yes sir." Kowalski said, and slid towards the door Rico just behind him.
"Okay Skips." Emma answered, following Kowalski and Rico. They opened the door, and went out into the chilling night. The wind whispered through the trees, and there were clouds surrounding the sky. They decided to stay in one group, as they checked the gagamba monkey's habitat. Emma realised that she didn't even know the Monkey's name.
"Okay, so we'll have to check the surrounding habitats, and then if he's not there we'll have to check all of the habitats." Kowalski decided.
"What about if he's in one habitat when were in another, then he moves when we reach that one?" Emma asked.
"Well then we'll need madami help if we can't find him." Kowalski answered. Rico hacked up a dynamite stick.
"Kaboom?" He asked hopefully.
"No Rico, no kaboom." Emma told him sternly.
"Aw..." Rico grumbled, and swallowed the dynamite stick, looking disappointed. They heard a faint monkey noise, coming from Joey's habitat, and they slid over there as quickly as possible. They peaked over curiously, and saw that the gagamba Monkey, was throwing Joey's ball around, and smearing it with fruit. Emma didn't know the Monkey well, but he always seemed to be ok with Joey. The Monkey turned around, and Emma's stomach lurched, making her feel sick. His eyes were a glowing red. For a second, Emma had a horrible flashback, to when she Nawawala her powers, and she saw the red eyes everywhere. She shivered.
"Em, it's ok, look, he's eating Lychee nuts, like Julien did that time, and he went crazy." Kowalski reassured her, squeezing her flipper comfortingly. Emma smiled and blushed, then went back to focusing on the monkey.
"We need some of the bayabas Berry ilas na manliligaw stuff then." Emma whispered.
"Igetome." (I'll get some.) Rico said, and slid off towards the lemur habitat. Emma and Kowalski kept watch on the monkey. Suddenly, he looked up and noticed them. he screeched, and jumped up to them, knocking them off the wall, an into the habitat.
"Woah!" Emma exclaimed, as she fell to the floor. Kowalski landed susunod to her, and helped her up. Emma got into a fighting stance, and her and Kowalski circled them.
"Be careful Em, he's twice our size, and he's got his claws out." Kowalski warned. Emma nodded and she watched the monkey with caution. He growled at them, ad tried to claw at Emma. Emma dodged him, and kicked him in the face. The monkey turned to Kowalski, and tried to attack him, but Kowalski dodged him. Emma heard a shout from behind her. Rico, was back with the spray. Emma turned around, losing sight of the monkey.
"Ehndyou!" (Behind you!) Rico yelled pointing at the monkey. Emma turned around, and saw the monkey jumping at her. She froze with fear.
Emma squeezed her eyes shut, and she felt herself being tackled to the ground. But there was no pain. She opened her eyes in confusion, and heard a yelp of pain to her left. She turned and she gasped. Kowalski was on the floor where she was a minuto ago, and the monkey was clawing at him madly. Rico ran up to the monkey and sprayed him with the bayabas berry spray that they used to cure Maurice. The monkey stopped and look around, in bewilderment.
"What's going on?" He asked. His eyes fell on Kowalski and his face filled with shock. "Oh my gosh what happened?"
"You went a bit crazy when you ate these Lychee nuts." Skipper explained rushing into the habitat, followed sa pamamagitan ng a few of the other animals. Emma ran up to the injured Kowalski and sat down beside him, looking at his wounds. Emma's breathing sped up, as she realised that he had deep scratches on his chest, neck, and stomach. Emma had never seen so much blood in her life. Her mind went blank with panic, she had no idea what to do, and her eyes filled with tears. Kowalski was barely conscious. He realised that Emma was there, and he smiled weakly. He held her flipper comfortingly.
"Em....I....I don't think I'm going to make it." He managed in a barely audible whisper. "I.. I just need you t..to know that I...." He trailed off. Tears rolled down Emma's cheeks as she tried to wake him up. She heard a noise from Skipper.
"Sis, we have to get him to the vets." He shouted urgently. The fog of panic encasing Emma's brain lifted, and she realised that he was right. Rico picked Kowalski up, and they all rushed over to the vets as quickly as possible. Emma looked back, and saw the poor monkey, looking upset. She went over to him, and she saw he was looking at his blood drenched paws, a guilty look on his face.
"Hey it wasn't your fault." She told him sympathetically.
"I know, but I still really injured someone." He replied, looking at the floor.
"We're all capable of terrible things if we're not in our right mind." Emma said, looking towards the vet. "Are you coming?" She asked.
"Yeah, ok." The monkey mumbled, and he made his way over to the vets.
"What's you name?" Emma asked him. "No one's ever told me before."
"Jason." He answered, as they entered the vet building. Emma ran up to Skipper, Rico and Private, who were sitting down, looking worried.
"Where's Kowalski?" She asked, feeling panicky.
"In surgery." Skipper answered sadly. "The doctor isn't here, so Phil and Mason are trying to stop the bleeding." He explained. Emma sat down, and buried her face in her flippers.
"Is.. is he going to make it?" She asked forcing back the tears that were filling up the back of her eyes. The team fell silent, and Emma looked up at them in shock. "Please, someone say something!" She pleaded.
"He.. Nawawala a lot of blood, and they don't have any of his blood type in the vet." Private explained sadly.
"What blood type is he?" She asked, wondering if someone in the zoo could help.
"AB negative." Skipper answered. Emma's eyes widened, and she jumped out of her chair, and rushed into the operating room. The others watched in astonishment. Emma ran up to Phil and Mason, and explained what she had just learnt from Skipper.
"Are you sure you want to give some of your blood?" Mason asked. Emma nodded without hesitating. Phil took a bit from her, and put it in a sachet, which led down to an IV, which was in Kowalski's right flipper. Mason told her that that should be enough, and she went back out, sitting down, trying to slow her breathing down a bit. They sat there for about 10 minutes, and in that time, some of the other mga hayop came in too. Marlene came in and comforted all of them, Jason, was sitting down, still feeling guilty about what happened. The lemurs were also in the vets, which surprised Emma a bit. She guessed that Maurice probably nagged Julien to go. She looked at the team, Skipper was looking upset, Private was crying, and to her astonishment,so was Rico. She had never seen him cry before. Emma thought about how eventful these last two days had been. First she had been dumped, segundo her flipper had caught on fire, and now this. She sighed deeply, and closed her eyes. She wondered what would happen if he made it. Would she go out with him, or would she still wait maybe a week or two? She just wasn't sure anymore. As she was thinking this over, Phil and Mason came out.
"Is he going to be ok?" Emma asked, looking up at them.
"Yes, the minuto we gave him your blood,he healed up instantly, literally instantly." Mason explained, a tone of surprise in his voice. Emma looked confused, and she glanced at the others, who also had a wondering look on their faces. Emma guessed it might have something to do with her powers she used to have. "Also." Mason began. "He should be able to walk out of here when he wakes up." He explained. Emma smiled in delight and looked around the room gleefully. Rico was smiling wider than she had ever seen him smile, Private was clapping his flippers joyfully, and Skipper was smiling, and looking towards the door. Emma thought about her and Kowalski, and decided that she might have to wait a week to get over what had happened this week before she could get in another relationship. Too much had happened recently. She looked towards the door and saw it open. Her smile grew wider, as Kowalski came through the door, with no marks, bandages or cuts whatsoever. All of the team ran up to him, and Emma hugged him tightly, crying tears of happiness. He hugged her back, and smiled at her. He let go, and got hugs from Private, Rico, and even a small one from Skipper. Emma glanced at the time, which was 10pm. She realised that she was extremely exhausted.
"Should we go tahanan now?" Kowalski asked. Skipper was about to answer when Jason walked up to them.
"Hey, I'm really sorry about that, I don't know what came over me." He explained looking upset.
"It's ok it wasn't your fault, Kowalski replied, reassuringly. Jason smiled, and went back to his own habitat. The penguins made their way back to their HQ, and Emma was too tired to even talk to anyone. When they got in, Emma managed a weak wave, and flopped onto her bed, falling asleep instantly. Kowalski chuckled at this, and he noticed she didn't even open the covers, she was laying on tuktok of them. He lifted her up gently, and tucked her in, giving her one of her stuffed toys. He watched her lovingly, and got into his own bunk, thinking about what happened today, and thinking about Emma.
I really want to be with her, but I don't think she'll be ready after this week. He thought, feeling a little disappointed. But he was really grateful to her, she saved his life. Though he did wonder how her blood made him heal impossibly quickly. He closed his eyes, and made a little daydream up in his head, where they were happily together, watching the stars and cuddling. He smiled, and fell into a blissful sleep.
Emma was having a very peculiar dream. She was sitting on a ulap floating through the sky. Suddenly, a light shone from above. She looked up in surprise and saw her great great (etc) grandma, Eleanor, from the 1400's smiling down at her.
"Eleanor? What's going on?" Emma asked in bewilderment.
"I'm here to tell you something very important, my child." Eleanor explained, smiling kindly and floating down onto the ulap susunod to Emma.
"Why?" Emma wondered, looking at her ancestor, feeling confused, but she was really happy to see her, even if it was only in a dream.
"Because you want answers." Eleanor began. "You want to know why your blood healed Kowalski so quickly, don't you?" Emma nodded in response.
"I guessed it's something to do with our powers that we had." Emma thought aloud.
"Oh, it's much much madami than that." Eleanor answered, smiling sweetly. "C'mon, lets take a walk." She said, taking Emma's flipper and walking through the clouds. They came to a small hut, which appeared out of nowhere. Emma peaked inside, and saw her great grandma, Charlotte, from the 1100's sitting on a wooden stool, susunod to a little fire. Then someone walked in and Emma looked at the figure in amazement. It was a creature she had never seen before. It had the shape and body of a ibong dagat but it had almost completely black feathers, with a few white markings on it's side, and a small white bit around it's snout and mouth. It's ears were sharp an pointy, and it had small little paws, but flippers too. It had dark green eyes, the same shade as the damo in the rain forest. The creature went up to Charlotte, and hugged her affectionately, which made Emma's eyes widen.
"Who, or what is that?" Emma asked, looking astonished.
"That is Charlotte's husband, and one of our ancestors. His name is Shane Sebastian Swift, and he's an ancient animal called a Rhonchaser."Eleanor explained. "And I know you're about to ask, so I'll tell you that charlotte never mentioned him, because his race was a secret to all of the world, as they possessed an ability that allowed them to heal people with there blood. The species has been extinct for about 900 years, since the last one is standing right there." Eleanor said. "Most of them were bad, and were hunted sa pamamagitan ng the handful of people on earth who knew about them, but Shane was good."
"So why wasn't their kid a tumawid breed of both of them?" Emma asked, curiously.
"The child actually was, but not in any physical way." Eleanor began. "The gene was passed down, but the child looked like any other penguin."
"So, if Shane could do this, why did the abilities only pass down to us?" Emma wondered.
"Darling, that's like asking why Charlotte's abilities only passed down to us. It's all about genes, and chance. But I've realised that someone can only have Shane's ability, if they have Charlotte's too." Eleanor answered, smiling at her great grand daughter.
"So why have I still got it then, my powers were lost." Emma asked, looking even madami confused.
"Because the power is still inside of you my dear." Eleanor replied, sweetly. "You just have to find out how to tap into it." Emma was bursting with questions, she didn't know what to ask next. Eleanor seemed to know this, and she smiled at Emma. "What else do you want to know?" She asked. Emma took a deep breath.
"So, I'm not fully penguin, how did you know all of this, how do I tap into my powers, and, urm, what happens after you die?" Emma burst out, breathing deeply.
"Firstly, no your not fully penguin, but you are mostly penguin, you only have a small part of Rhonchaser in you, secondly, charlotte came to me in a dream, just like I am now, thirdly don't spend time trying, it will come to you naturally, but I don't know when, and lastly, I can't tell you sweetheart, but what I can tell you is that you'll see your dead family, and mga kaibigan again, but none of the religions are correct." Eleanor answered. Eleanor looked at a clock that appeared out of nowhere, and her eyes widened. "Goodness, I need to go, you'll be waking up soon." She said, and she began to walking through the clouds.
"Eleanor wait, I've got one madami question." Emma called, Eleanor turned back at her. "Is this real?"
"Of course my darling." Eleanor replied simply and disappeared into the clouds. Emma woke up suddenly, and she glanced around her. She quickly picked up a pen, and wrote down everything that Eleanor had just told her, on a piece of paper and put it in her drawstring bag. That was one of the most incredible experiences of her life. She got out of her bunk, her head still buzzing with what she had just learned. As she walked up to the table, she realised that all of the members of her family from Charlotte's side weren't fully penguin, her mum, her nan, her mums brothers, and their kids, and even Skipper and Rico.
"Morning sis." Skipper greeted, crashing Emma's train of thought.
"Hi Skips." Emma replied, only half listening. She made herself some cereal and sat down, eating slower than usual. Emma glanced around, and realised that Kowalski was still in his bunk, and Private and Rico were watching Tv. She glanced at the clock which read 12pm. Training would be starting soon, though Emma didn't really care at the minute. She started thinking about Kowalski, and how the blood healed him.
Wait a minute, if my blood can heal people, can it only heal people with my blood type? She thought. A few segundos later she head a small pinging sound from her bag. She looked inside and saw that the diary was glowing. Her eyes widened, and she opened it excitedly. There were words written in fancy ginto handwriting on a page that never had any words on before. Emma read it curiously.
Emma your blood will actually heal anyone, because even though you blood type comes up as a AB negative, you are actually a EE negative, a blood type which is unknown and only runs in this family, and it's compatible with all other blood types, so you can give your blood to other blood types, but you can only receive blood from AB negatives. Emma read. She recognised the handwriting and she smiled, closing the diary. A few segundos later she heard Kowalski wake up, which made her smile happily.
"Hey Kowalski, how are you today?" She asked, turning around to face him.
"I'm really good, I don't even feel like I was clawed sa pamamagitan ng a monkey yesterday." Kowalski replied cheerfully. "How about you?" He asked.
"I'm pretty good today." Emma answered, smiling at him shyly. "Hey do you wanna carry on with the shrink ray?" She asked.
"Sure." Kowalski replied, and the two of them walked into the lab, mga paru-paro filling their stomachs.
Emma and Kowalski walked up to the half completed Shrink Ray, and they discussed what they had to do next. They needed to put the actual device which made things shrink into the outer casing, and attach it carefully. Then they needed to install a switch. Emma put her music on, and picked up the shrinking device, and took it over to Kowalski.
"Ok, so we just need to put this into the outer casing." He said, as he unscrewed the bottom of the casing and held part of the shrinking device, helping Emma put it in very carefully. The two of them got some wires and started attaching them to the shrinking device, the inside of the handle, where the switch would be, and to the disc.
"Hey what happened to that Shrink sinag you made sometime last year? Y'know the one you made a few weeks before you made Jiggles?" Emma asked curiously.
"I accidentally dropped it in the lake in Central Park, when I was trying to Shrink a fish." Kowalski admitted, looking a bit embarrassed. Emma smiled at this, and forced back a little giggle, tickling the back of her throat. They continued working on the device, though they had to go up to training for a few hours. After that finished, they immediately went into the lab, and got back to work, tapping their feet long to the music as they did so. Emma's puso was beating faster than usual, and Kowalski's stomach was feeling giddy and queasy. They chatted to eachother cheerfully, trying to hide their shyness. As the araw went on they progressed nicely, they just had to install a switch.
"Ok, so where are we going to get a switch?" Emma asked starting at the almost completed Shrink sinag with pride.
"Hmm, well we could get a simple switch from an electronics store or we could build one." Kowalski replied thoughtfully. Emma thought this over.
"How long would one take to build?" She asked.
"Only about half an hour." Kowalski answered cheerfully.
"Well lets do that then." Emma decided brightly. She picked up a few parts, and began to put them together, and attaching the wires to it. Kowalski started to help, being careful not to put the wires in the wrong place. They worked in silence, too fixed on the switch to talk. Emma was making a little pantasiya in her head, and a small smile tugged at her face. After about 25 minutes, they finished the little switch, and attached it to the Shrink Ray.
"There we go, all finished." Kowalski announced proudly. Emma looked at the completed shrink sinag and grinned. They had also added a reverse setting, so they could regrow shrunk things.
"Lets test it." Emma sinabi excitedly, picking up, and blasting it at a screwdriver. A strange green light came out of the Shrink Ray, and shrunk the birador to a fraction of it's size. Then Emma pressed the reverse button, and a eerie purple light shot out and re grew the birador to normal size.
"Woah.." Kowalski marvelled. "It works better than I expected!" He sinabi happily. Him and Emma smiled at eachother and they ran out to ipakita the others. Skipper was pleased about this invention, which surprised Emma and Kowalski.
"We can now infiltrate enemy bases and not be seen or set off any alarms." He realised, looking satisfied. Emma looked smug, and she grinned at Kowalski.
"Caniaveaook?" (Can I have a look?) Rico asked.
"Sure." Emma replied brightly, passing the sinag to her brother. Rico looked at it, and when he looked into the dish, he accidentally pressed the button. Suddenly, the green light shout out, and he shrunk to just under the size of Private's Lunacorn. Emma let out a little giggle, and she picked up the shrink ray, about to change him back.
"Aitaminute." (Wait a minute) Rico sinabi in a high pitched, quiet voice. He ran over to Private's Lunacorn, and sat on the back on it, riding around on it, laughing in a crazy, high pitched voice. Emma burst out laughing, and she had to sit down to calm herself down. It was one pf the funniest things she had ever seen. A cheeky though popped into her head. She pulled out her phone, and took a litrato of tiny Rico on the Lunacorn, and stuffed the phone back into her bag before anyone noticed. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Skipper smirking at her. She grinned at him. Kowalski took the shrink ray, and restored Rico back to his normal size. Rico looked a bit annoyed but he didn't say anything. Emma looked outside and realised that the sky was darkening to a navy blue colour.
"Ooh NCIS: Los Angeles is about to start!" Emma realised, turning on the Tv with excitement, and lying on her belly. The others lay down susunod to her, and Emma Nawawala herself in the program. She was very glad because the episode was centered around her favourite character, even though he got shot, which worried her greatly. She stared at the screen, hoping he would survive. Kowalski saw her expression, and he squeezed her flipper comfortingly, making a fuzzy warmth course through Emma's entire body. She blushed, and smiled at Kowalski shyly, before focusing on the Tv again. About 15 minutos later a big wave a relief washed over her when she realised that the character would survive. Emma beamed at the Tv, and carried on watching the episode, feeling content and happy. Part of her was still nervous because Kowalski was lying down very close to her. When it finished, Emma started flicking through the channels, trying to find something on. Her eyes were caught sa pamamagitan ng one channel, which first had an Olly Murs tuktok 10 songs on, followed sa pamamagitan ng a Taylor matulin tuktok 10, and after that a Westlife tuktok 20. Her eyes lit up and she went even closer to the Tv, almost buzzing with anticipation. She realised that it was on for 4 hours which made her even happier. Private was also quite excited sa pamamagitan ng that, and he sat up on the floor, and got comfy.
"Y'know sis, I just remembered that Shirtless Ninja action theater is on." Skipper teased, grinning widely.
"No freaking chance." Emma replied, smirking at him and holding the controls protectively. Skipper chuckled, which surprised Emma greatly. She couldn't even remember the last time he laughed. Emma made an excited squeal when it started, and she relaxed on the floor, gazing at the Tv, and trying not to giggle like a little schoolgirl. As she watched the Tv, the time flew sa pamamagitan ng and before she knew it, that last Westlife song finished. Emma looked up at the clock, and saw that it was 1am. She looked around and realised that nearly everyone was already in bed. Surprise filled her, and her brain only just registered, that Skipper Rico and Private had told her that they were going kama 2 hours ago. She giggled at herself, and got up. Kowalski was sitting at the table, and scribbling on his clipboard.
"Heading kama Em?" He asked, looking up at her.
"Yupperdoodle." Emma replied cheerfully.
"Me too, I'm getting a bit tired." Kowalski said, and he headed for his bunk, with Emma closely behind him. They hopped into their bunks and Emma thought about what he had learned last night. She was a little surprised that she wasn't fully penguin, but she also found it really cool too.
I wonder if any of my family will be in my dreams tonight? She thought, before falling asleep.
11 days passed sa pamamagitan ng (so it was 15th February), and Emma and Kowalski became closer mga kaibigan than they had ever been. They spent most days hanging out with eachother, which Skipper made a cheeky comment about a few days ago. Emma woke up and she shuffled over to the cinder block table.
"Morning." She sinabi sleepily, as she got herself some breakfast. She realised that she was the last one up. Everyone sinabi morning back, though she wasn't really paying much attention. He bandage around her flipper had come off yesterday, and her flipper was fully healed. She glanced around, and saw that Private and Rico were arguing over the Tv, and Kowalski and Skipper were playing cards, and Kowalski was winning for once. Emma smiled at this, and she tucked into her breakfast. Her mind was swirling with thoughts, many focusing on a certain penguin. She looked over at Kowalski longingly. She didn't think she'd be able to resist him much longer. Every time she was with him, her stomach felt giddy, her puso would beat 100 times fast than usual, and she felt content, and safe. She made a little pantasiya in her head, and she started smiling, and going a little red. About half an oras later Skipper got them up to training.
"So today we're going to work on on punches." He announced, gesturing to the stood up punching bags behind him. Emma looked interested, and saw that each punching bag was a different colour, she eyed up the dark blue one, and she realised that Rico was looking at that one too.
"Ooh, I like the yellow one." Private exclaimed looking at the sunny colours in delight.
"Ok choose your punching bag." Skipper said, moving out of the way. Rico and Emma rushed over to the dark blue one and began to fight over it.
"Mine!" Rico squawked, trying to get it from his sister.
"No, it's mine!" Emma argued, kicking Rico. She smirked and thought of something. "Oh my goodness Rico, Miss Perky's about to fall in the water!" She exclaimed pointing behind him. Rico turned around worriedly, losing his grip on the punching bag. Emma snatched it off him, and grinned evilly at him.
"Hey!" He protested, looking annoyed. Emma looked smug, and threw the remaining red one at him. Rico grumbled and started punching it. Emma tried not to giggle, as she started to manuntok her bag. Private was a bit hesitant to manuntok it, but he got the hang of it a while through. Emma wasn't working very hard, she was too busy thinking. She was lucky that Skipper didn't notice. Her eyes fell on Kowalski and he watched him shyly. He looked over at her, and she looked away quickly, and began to smile. Kowalski gazed at her, and his stomach flipped inside him. Their eyes met, and they smiled shyly at eachother, before looking away again. Rico noticed this, and he smirked, and chuckled. Emma gave Rico a dark look, and focused back on her punching bag. After a while the humans came along and they had to do their usual cute and cuddly routine. Emma had started getting bored of this, but she continued anyway. At 2:30pm the humans went away, and Emma and Kowalski wondered what they could do today.
"Well we could get some snowcones." Emma suggested.
"Sure, that sounds fun." Kowalski agreed cheerfully. They headed out of the habitat, and walked towards the zoo gates. Emma looked around at the other habitats curiously. Julien was kicking Mort off his feet, whilst Maurice had to fetch Julien a smoothie.
I really feel sorry for Mort and Maurice. She thought. They reached the gates, and they slipped out quietly. Emma had always loved the park, it was so full of nature, and it was such a relaxing place to be.
"Hey Em, did you hear that there's supposed to be a meteor paliguan today?" Kowalski asked, looking at the shorter penguin.
"Really?" Emma replied, looking curious.
"Yeah, it's supposed to start around 10pm." Kowalski answered smiling a Emma.
"Ooh that sounds like it would be amazing to watch." Emma remarked, feeling excited.
"Yep, that's what I thought." Kowalski said. "So do you want to watch it with me?" He asked shyly.
"Sure." Emma replied, blushing a little.
"I think we'll get a better view from the park than from our habitat, so at about 9:50pm, we should go out to the park." Kowalski advised, as they reached the snowcone stand.
"Good idea." Emma agreed, as she got two bahaghari cones and passed one to Kowalski. They began to walk back but they took their time. Emma looked around her, and smile happily. The damo was soft and green, beautiful bulaklak were popping out of the grass, and mga paru-paro fluttered around. One landed on Emma's flipper, and she smiled at it. It walked up her flipper, then flew off. Emma giggled, and continued walking. Kowalski smiled warmly at her, as he ate his snowcone. They chatted as they strolled over to their habitat. Marlene was swimming in her habitat, and she caught sight of the penguins. She winked at Emma as they passed. Emma grinned and hopped into the fishbowl, followed sa pamamagitan ng Kowalski. They didn't have any inventions to complete, so they sat down, and started drawing for a bit. Emma put her headphones in her earholes, and turned her music on. She smiled as she heard the familiar lyrics. As she glanced at the clock, and realised that they still had about 7 hours until the meteor paliguan started. She felt a bit impatient, and hoped the time would pass quickly. Luckily for Emma, the time flew by. The others were extremely tired today, because the araw before, they stayed up until 3am, and got up at 8am, so they headed kama at 9:30pm. Kowalski and Emma sneaked out of the HQ, and made their way to the park. The night was a little chilly, but very calm. As they got into the park, Emma looked up and stared wonderingly. The sky was covered in stars, twinkling all over the landscape. They reached a pretty little spot sa pamamagitan ng the lake, and sat down, leaning against a tree.
"Thanks for coming along Em." Kowalski said, shyly.
"Anytime Kowalski, I wouldn't miss this for the world anyway." Emma replied, smiling up at the taller penguin. He smiled back, and looked up at the sky, waiting for the paliguan to start. The air got nippier and Emma shivered.
"Are you ok Em." Kowalski asked, looking concerned.
"Yeah, I'm just a bit cold." She replied, wrapping her flippers around herself.
"Well you could always urm.. warm up susunod to me." Kowalski suggested nervously.
"Huh?" Emma asked.
"Well they say that body heat is good at warming people up." Kowalski explained, going red. Emma thought for a second.
"Ok." She agreed, scooting closer to him. Kowalski wrapped a flipper around her, and Emma rested her head on Kowalski's shoulder. She felt instantly warmer, and she relaxed completely. Suddenly, she saw a little light fly across the sky. "Ooh, I think it's starting!" She exclaimed, looking excited. madami lights flew across the sky, and Emma sighed, and gazed up happily. Kowalski watched her, loving how her eyes twinkled in the darkness. He held her flipper gently, making Emma blush. She looked up at him, thoughts of the meteor paliguan draining from her head. "Hey Kowalski, I need to tell you something." She said, going even redder.
"What is it?" Kowalski asked, letting go of her flipper, and stroking her cheek instead. A happy chill went down Emma's spine, and she took a deep breath.
"I...I pag-ibig you" She managed, her puso beating at a million miles an hour. Kowalski smiled at her lovingly.
"I pag-ibig you too." He replied, starting blush aswell. Their faces were inches from eachother's, and Emma stared into Kowalski's ocean blue eyes. Kowalski closed the distance between them, and kissed Emma, running his flipper through her hair. Emma kissed, back, and wrapped her flippers around his neck, and stroking the back of it. Emma was tingling with happiness, and her breathing sped up, as the halik deepened. She realised he tasted of mint, and chocolate, and caramel. All sweet, and tasty. They pulled away about a minuto later, gasping for air. Emma tried to slow her breathing down, and her puso calmed. She nuzzled Kowalski's neck playfully, and ran her flippers down his back, making him shiver in delight.
"I've been wanting to do that for so long now." Kowalski said, stroking her hair gently, and rubbing his beak softly against Emma's.
"Me too." Emma replied, leaning her head on his shoulder again, and remembering about the meteor shower. They relaxed, and watched the shower, cuddling in each others flippers, both of them feeling fully complete for the first time in their lives. They both finally had the one they loved.
