*Fanpoppers: Earn Your fans ~ Don't Bribe For Them!
*Fanpoppers: Earn Your Fans ~ Don't Bribe For Them!
G'day awesome Fanpoppers!
This can either be considered as a rambling rant or as something of concern sa pamamagitan ng a fellow Fanpopper. Over the last few days I have noticed that so many tanong asked in the sagot feature is in relation to users trying to increase their fanlist. I have come across at least half a dozen tanong in various spots where users are asking other users to tagahanga them and promising to reward them with props.
To me that just is not the appropriate way to increase one's fanlist. Your fans, just like your props, should be earned!
What bothers me is just how many people are requesting this and the fact that they are not new users to the site. If you have been a member of Fanpop for 4 or 6 months then you are NOT a new user and should really know better.
I'm certain that the majority of Fanpoppers also feel that this is not the correct way to go about increasing a user's fanlist.
At the time of Pagsulat this piece, I have 680 fans. I have not bribed one single user into fanning me. I also have never propped anyone for doing so and do not expect that any user pagpaparangal me for fanning them either.
How I tagahanga a user is sa pamamagitan ng checking their bista sa tagiliran and seeing what spots we have in common. I admit that I also tend to tagahanga some of the "oldies" like me,LOL,as there is not too many around compared to the younger users. Also I usually tend to tagahanga an Aussie user when I stumble across one. After all, there is only about 5% of Australians on this site so I like to support my fellow Aussie mates. Still there has to be some commonality!
I have reported various of these user request tanong as bad tanong and nagkomento on some. Yesterday one of the users told me that if I had nothing good to say then to just say nothing at all. I was not trying to be negative nor put the user down, I was merely attempting to explain the right way to get fans.
Personally, I have nothing against holiday or birthday pagpaparangal and have even been known to multi pagpaparangal some users for silly reasons BUT I do think it is wrong to bribe users into becoming fans.
With nearly 700 fans under my belt, am I any madami liked or better off than the user that has only 80 fans? No! At the risk of sounding ungrateful and pompous, the number of fans I have has absolutely no credibility on the kind of user I am. There are so many users that I may not even tumawid paths with on any spot for months or have no idea what my contributions to the site are.
Also guys, have some dignity. Do you really want an extra 30 fans on your fanlist because in return you gave them 15 props? I would think not, there's no satisfaction in that.
Some of these users that I have seen "begging" for fans, when I have checked their profiles I would have gladly fanned them. However, the fact that they were bribing for fans was a total turn-off for me.
If I tagahanga a user it's because I want to do so NOT because my pagpaparangal pader will be rewarded with countless pagpaparangal for it. This particular strategy of bribing for fans will certainly never work with me.
Come on,guys, contribute to the site and be active and you WILL have fans. But you will have fans for the right reason and not because you are offering a reward in return!

So you check out Fanpop pretty regularly, and sometimes you see picks, comments, soapboxes, or pagtitip. posts that you want to respond to, but don't know if you should. I'm not talking about whether or not you should add some naughty innuendo to a comment, or reply to something that made you laugh. I'm speaking madami of the content that makes you react negatively. Maybe it annoyed you, offended you, or it's a feud between two fanpoppers that you know. In any case, you don't like it, and you want to say something, but you're not sure what that is.

Now there are users who say what they think when...

This artikulo is dedicated to edennirvana, one underrated Fanpoppette, thanks to her inspiring pick tanong link and for her unending ability to make me laugh. Here's to you, eden!

This is an excerpt from the musical about my life, 'Razl Dazl'. While I may post the lyrics to my pag-ibig affair with cheese at a later stage, this is going to focus on my inauspicious start on Fanpop, and the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

No site yet has caught my fickle eye,
Silly little bloggers and their griping,...

I've been wondering this for a while. How did everyone discover fanpop? I found it when I googled, "The Office full episodes." I found them on fanpop and started looking at the other spots. All the media on each spot was amazing. There was so much stuff on one topic. I was office crazy for a while and was on there nearly everyday until I discovered the harry potter spot. Finally I met other people who loved harry potter as much as me. I started finding other spots with my interests. I even made a spot. I check fanpop everyday for updates. I've become a fanpop fanatic. So, how did you discover fanpop?
