Some sombrero are still ibingiay out. I received two new article-writing sombrero recently, and I believe that the sombrero for fanning people, number of years of membership etc are still being handed out (but I haven't gotten any recently myself). I'm not sure about the walang tiyak na layunin ones. I think the holiday ones have been stopped.
From what I understand, new sombrero are no longer being added to the site, but the ones that had already been made are still intact and can be earned as per usual.
For example, you can still earn sombrero for adding new friends, submitting articles, and being a member of Fanpop for a certain amount of time, but holiday sombrero are no longer ibingiay out to those who log in on special days of the year.

I thought the artikulo sombrero were a kamakailan addition. I received my 10-articles takip about a buwan ago, even though I'd written 10 artikulo over a taon previously.

Yeah, I think they came much later than the others. They might have been around for a taon or so? I'm not sure who made them (if it was the same artist who made the old caps) but I don't think any madami have been added to the site since.
