The Fanpop website has been around for quite a few years now- 3 years in fact, and whilst it is still relatively unknown compared to the likes of Myspace, Facebook and the so-called phenomenon known as Twitter, it is still for me THE website that I pay a visit to on a regular basis.
Fanpop was formerly a small relatively unknown website, whose number of members have grown, buwan sa pamamagitan ng month, taon sa pamamagitan ng year.
With features such as uploading images, submitting website iugnay to other artikulo and You Tube bidyo to Pagsulat articles, opinion pieces and posting your works of art and creating trivia questions, Fanpop is so user friendly, it aims to give all of us users the opportunity to contribute, rate, to gain recognition for what we do, as well as to have fun.
This has been labelled as a social networking site, alongside Myspace, Facebook, Twitter- yet it also doubles up as a fansite too. Let's face it, have you ever visited other tagahanga sites for your favourite hobbies, interests, TV shows, actors, looked at what is on offer and thought: 'hang on for a second, I can do better than that'- yet you do not know a thing about creating a fansite? Especially as you have to learn HTML jargon and Dreamweaver for example?
Well, on Fanpop, you can do what you've always wanted to do on here, which you never had the opportunity to do whatsoever, and with ease.
Being one of the writers of Michael Urie Online fansite myself, whilst I can type up and post my articles, I cannot post photos, icons, tagahanga art in the gallery on the site- therefore, I post a few larawan and provide the link to the Michael Urie Club so that other fans can follow it and see the photos, screencaps, tagahanga art etc themselves. As a result, they all receive a good number of 'views' on there. And so in that respect, having the Michael Urie club on here to promote the pics etc to the fans-especially those who are not members of the club, has been very useful.
One of the best things about this website is that it mentions that everyone gets to contribute images, links, artikulo etc. Therefore, it is madami of a team effort, unlike general fansites where you have just the moderator/site creator and owner/webmaster or mistress, if you are female and they do all the work. This is also an excellent idea because speaking as a tagahanga of other TV shows, actors, I have been on many fansites and often I notice that he/she does not regularly update the content of the site.
And fans do notice straight away after a few months whether or not the site has been updated.
An example of this is the 'Ugly is In' Ugly Betty tagahanga site(which has coincidently enough dissapeared for good, recently). Being an Ugly Betty fan, for months I noticed that the pagtitip. was littered with spam and irrelevant postings, which had nothing to do with the show, and that the litrato gallery had not been updated. As the months went by, nothing had changed. It was only just 2 weeks nakaraan I noticed that it was gone because when I tried typing in the url link, I got a message saying that the site had been sold. Alas, there was no message prior to that and so I was unaware that it was going to happen.
Oh well. That is one example of how one should NOT run a website. Thankfully for Fanpop, I can post my photos, news and other content on the Ugly Betty club as well as others, and let the fans know what is going on with regards to the ipakita and actors, on a regular basis.
I would, for one, would like to suggest a few additions to the Fanpop site that would make it madami fun, accessible and gain even madami users and visitors in the long run.
Likewise:
For the person who contributes the most content on one spot to be allowed to change the Icon and banner, say once, every year- but only if the original creator of the club has been 'inactive' from the spot for madami than 2 years. In other words, if the creator has not been submitting links, larawan etc within that period of time.
2) To create/customise and add a background to our profiles- of course, this isn't Myspace, but I think it would be great if we could distinguish each other's user profiles this way. Plus, it would make it madami attractive looking and appealing.
3) I also think that it would be good to have say one regular sized litrato on the main page to represent the club and as a way of promoting it to the other users and fans.
4) As well as medalya for dedicated and die hard fans for example, there should be an added logo/symbol, which denotes the spots where he/she has made the most contributions pangkalahatang in terms of links, images, picks etc on the clubs they have joined. Likewise, if you look at my bista sa tagiliran for example, you will notice that I have naisumite madami larawan to the Michael Urie club than any other. Even though I have yet to receive a single medal for it.
But other than that, Fanpop is still an excellent site- it is so much fun being on here and getting to know other people who share the same interests and tastes in music, TV, actors as yourself. Plus, it is easier to find people who are into the same things that you are into and discuss it with them. No matter what your age or where you are from, it is easier to get yourself heard, sa pamamagitan ng contributing and taking part.
Fanpop is definitely the susunod best thing- shame though it is not as appreciated and well known as Twitter, Facebook and sa pamamagitan ng many celebrities, as well as in the media. Because if I were a celebrity and had known that there was a spot created sa pamamagitan ng someone else based on me or a TV ipakita I was on for instance, I would definitely check it out.
I am so glad that I found Fanpop- I just hope it remains online for years to come. Thanks so much Dave and co- you have indeed made tagahanga site building so much easier:)!

I did it again.
I accidentally hit the "start chat" tab again.
And couldn't remember how make it go away.
I've had this problem a few times before and have to re-learn it every time.
For some reason, I'm always under the impression that the solution lies under my bista sa tagiliran settings.
It does not.
So now there is an artikulo to remind me, and anyone else who needs it, how to get rid of this dang thang.
Step 1: Under the "contacts" tab, click "I am online." The words, not the pencil. If you click the pencil, it will complicate things and you'll have to reload the page.
Step 2: Click "Log out."
It's not the most obvious way out, but it's easy once you finally remember how to do it, so I hope this helps cut down on some frustration. (If not for you, at least for me susunod time I accidentally open it and frantically paghahanap for a solution. =P)

Yeah, I know this is kinda lame, but this is all I could think up! :'(
Just go to an article, (or look the person who you want to message up) and click their name near the top. Fanpop will ipakita you their bista sa tagiliran page and scroll down until you find the "Message" tab. Click it and ...voila!
Just type your message and send it. If they message you back, your inbox will tell you! Try it!
Sorry if this was lame! :(

Ok, I usually don't make user guides but this one needs to be made. I have seen a lot of picks and a lot of them are boring or annoying. Here is a listahan of steps to help you out.
1. Try to have madami than three sagot if possible. If the tanong is "Who should Jim be with?" Put, Karen and Pam, and then put an answer like neither or Katy.
2.Always have pictures for the tanong if it isn't a yes, no, or maybe question. Pictures bring in madami fans and make the picks madami interesting.
3. Try to ask tanong that people haven't already asked and tanong that people will be interested in. Don't make it boring.
Now these are the three golden steps to making a good, quality pick on fanpop. If you feel I need to add anything, then please leave it in the comments.

I'm guessing a lot of people have all ready have found this problem but if you don't understand then it's like this:
One araw I decided to create a new club of something that didn't exist as a club yet but I couldn't find the 'Create a club' button. Trust me I looked high and low for the thing but couldn't find it. When I logged out of my account at last there I saw it, the 'Create a club button' so when I clicked on it they of course asked me to sign back in but when I did I was the same position I was in before clicking.
For some people this problem don't seem to happen but for people like me who want to create clubs but can't because the button is unavailable well it's frustrating. I've been looking abound for some kind of answer but the only thing that came up was a link link
this only leads to you having to sign in again. I don't know if it's the signing in thing that's the problem but it really shouldn't be.
Please fix this problem Fanpop!

Yesterday, I was fanpoping. I come across the link spot- And went to videos. link is what I saw. There were mansanas pie bidyo there. naisumite sa pamamagitan ng Hulu.
link are some larawan sa pamamagitan ng other fanpopers reporting this.
Hulu's bidyo should NOT be done sa pamamagitan ng a webcrawler. (or whatever you call it) Dave, either have a manual team do hulu's videos, or dont do it at all.
EDIT: as amazondebs says in the comments, Fanpop isen't even getting paid for hulu's videos. What is the purpose of having them here?
(Another) EDIT: madami of this maddness. and in link spot!
