So last night, August the 2nd/3rd, depending on where you were, I witnessed a phenomenon I have not seen on the internet for quite some time, I've seen glimmers of it, hints and comments, but I've not had it so blatantly thrust in my face until last night. I am, of course, talking about unity. No, not unity against a 'common enemy' or a 'troll' as many people on the internet assume is unity, but genuine "I can just click something to make someone feel a little better" kind of unity.

You see true believer, I have a faith in one thing, 'The small things count'. Whether it's just a passing 'hello', an easy to say 'I pag-ibig you' or just clicking 'Give Props' here on Fanpop, it's a simple thing that can fill someone with a little bit of happiness. Last night I made a fair few picks in link, mostly I was bored, but I also, as always, wanted to see the results, and I wasn't surprised that a large amount of fans do add things, they do rate things, but most of all, they seem to like the community.

My best friend, as you will know him, is link, I've known him for years, I can honestly say I think the only people who are closer even sa pamamagitan ng the tiniest bit is Turk and JD from link, some would say that's worrying, I call it friendship, and while I've not and don't think I could ever make mga kaibigan as good as J, there's certainly a lot of people here who remind me of him when I first spoke to him properly, kind, generous and above all, friendly.

The other araw we noticed link had finally returned after a lengthy absence, and we both laughed as if he'd finally returned from inside the Bermuda Triangle, we like him, we like the members, and it's important to both us and the community that he and everyone else sticks around.

So please remember, it doesn't take much just to say hi, it doesn't take much just to give props, it doesn't take much to rate someone's content (which will in turn get them that medal they have been after for so long), it doesn't take much to comment, to start a discussion, to get to know people, to add someone back, to just do the simple things people often forget to do, even saying thankyou or sorry when an argument arises.

Fanpop is a community, and a bloody good one at that, here's to another year, and many madami after that :)

PS: Thankyou link, link, link and link in no particular order for making Fanpop in the first place, as much as this place is about community, it wouldn't exist if you hadn't been inspired to do it and worked as hard at it as you do.
OK, everybody, let's all just take some deep breaths. I've been looking at comments within the last half oras about the new Fanpop layout that has thrown all of us for a loop.

There was a similar outcry of disbelief over, what I am choosing to call, the link. I am here Pagsulat this to gather everyone's collective panic and misgivings into one place, as well as to try and look at the positives of these kamakailan changes, in an attempt to placate some of your fears.

First of all, let's get the obvious out of the way. AH! OMIGAWD! FANPOP LOOKS WEIRD AND IS ALL DIFFERENT! It's like Facebook and YouTube...

Ah props. They used to be a way to acknowledge on a peer to peer level that someone has posted something good. Back in my araw we used to give pagpaparangal if someone posted a good video, or sinabi something intelligent but now they're thrown out like...condoms in high schools? *shrugs*

What are props?
Props are small medalya that you can give to other users if you see them post something good.
eg; User_X posts a good video, User_Y gives User_X a video prop!

How can I give someone a prop?
You can give users pagpaparangal sa pamamagitan ng going to their bista sa tagiliran and clicking on the "Give Props" button, then type them a short message...

Hi everyone,

I’m Pagsulat this artikulo because I believe the new pader system has real potential of improving the way people use the props. I realize that not all fanpoppers will follow my advize, but I still feel the urge to write this.

I’ve been on fanpop for quite some time now, and I’ve received and ibingiay quite a few props. However, only a small amound of the pagpaparangal I received were ‘real props’. To clarify: sa pamamagitan ng ‘real props’ I mean pagpaparangal received for actual content I’ve submitted. All the other pagpaparangal were ‘thanks for being a tagahanga – props’ or ‘happy whatever araw you came...

Reason For This Article

Recently i finally found how to screencap a page on the internet. I had been looking for ages and finally i found out how to.Naturally i was very pleased and was waiting for a chance to use it.
 My Joy was short lived
My Joy was short lived

Days went by,days turned into weeks and after a buwan and a half i found nothing. For the times i had been on fanpop i had read the funniest, silliest things in spots and now that i could finally share them ,everyone became sensible?
 It felt like that unfortunately

After my long wait i got a message, but it wasn't what i was hoping for. I was expecting...

This is a little game I made up just because I was bored. I enjoy it, so I figured I’d share it.
Just a warning: This game is only fun if there’s a spot you’ve added a lot of larawan to, but enough have been added sa pamamagitan ng other people to make it challenging.

So, the object of the game is to... get lots of points? And to encourage proper image etiquette.

Be sure to keep something handy to keep track of your points! (Paper and pencil, blank word document, calculator, etc.)

Step 1: Maneuver over to your paborito spot (or preferably, the spot you’ve contributed the most larawan to)

Step 2: Look at...

The Fanwhore: Have you ever been added sa pamamagitan ng someone, and then when you went to their bista sa tagiliran to possibly add them back, saw only posts with things like "Thanks for the add!" as far as the eye could see? Congrats, you've just met a Fanwhore. This person is pretty much just obsessed with getting fans. They can spend hours adding people, and will usually add back anyone who adds them. They tend to have obscenely large numbers of fans, and to get them obscenely fast. Can go ballistic if they haven't gained at least five new fans in the last hour.
Also, some Fanwhores tend to reform after a while,...

How long have you been on Fanpop?
I've been on here since 2011, on a different account of course. I left because there was way to much going on with that one. I re visit sometimes.
I'm thinking about leaving tho.

Which club are you most active on?
Anime, there would be madami but they're dead. I really wish most of the clubs will get back active again. One araw huh?

Which Club is your favorite?
Anime, because I really pag-ibig anime.

Which section is your favorite?
The pagtitip. section, that's usually where I am.

Are you "known" for anything on Fanpop?

Nobody likes it when others ruin their fun sa pamamagitan ng telling them the end of the story. Some people just aren't as caught up with others because they're busy or haven't gotten around to it. Whether it's your paborito TV ipakita and you're a few episodes behind or a book that you haven't read yet, the last thing you want is for someone to tell you what happens. Spoilers can ruin the fun for everyone else and the last thing we want to do is take the fun out of your paborito stuff.

A lot of users were unhappy when fans were making picks that were spoilers during the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly...

Alright, so this is sort of in conjunction with a lot of other soapbox articles, namely Temptasia's two artikulo on link and link. It is also a sister artikulo to thecon's link. Additionally, it's minutely related (like a very distant cousin) to megloveskyle's artikulo on link. But I really wanted to stress the importance of constructive criticism here. So at the risk of sounding (exceptionally) redundant, I wish to discuss the importance of expressing yourself, taking responsibility for your actions, and not rating and running. Forgive me if this is all too familiar (thecon's artikulo summed...

Part one can he found link
Lately I have noticed a swell in the amount of inappropriate comments. Comments that have sexual innuendo, are hurtful, or are just plain gross, and most of the time they have nothing to do with the topic at hand. What I fail to grasp is why people feel like they need to do this. I can't understand why they can't control themselves and write something appropriate or nothing at all. Is it a lack of sense of humor? Do they not realize that people spend a lot of time contributing to this site and a comment like that can make all their efforts feel wasted? Or do they not...

I have had technology since I was three. Playing link and link on my SNES against/with my family (parents included!) were part of my childhood. I came onto the internet when I was around eleven, still fueled sa pamamagitan ng a need for technology, rarely seen without my Gameboy and link in it. I had to, as most people, find a place on the internet to settle into. I tried many places, first setting myself up a site at link, probably back when Dave and papa were still there and hadn't even started to think of Fanpop yet.

As I grew older and madami knowledgable about the internet and life in general, I went searching...
