Ah props. They used to be a way to acknowledge on a peer to peer level that someone has posted something good. Back in my araw we used to give pagpaparangal if someone posted a good video, or sinabi something intelligent but now they're thrown out like...condoms in high schools? *shrugs*

What are props?
pagpaparangal are small medalya that you can give to other users if you see them post something good.
eg; User_X posts a good video, User_Y gives User_X a video prop!

How can I give someone a prop?
You can give users pagpaparangal sa pamamagitan ng going to their bista sa tagiliran and clicking on the "Give Props" button, then type them a short message of what you appreciated and choose the correct pagpaparangal type.

I see other users throwing pagpaparangal around, so it should be ok?
If you saw those other users jump off a cliff would you also do it...if you answer yes then the internet may not be a good place for you.

What are some bad examples of pagpaparangal giving?
- User_X offers pagpaparangal to people that will sumali a club they created
- User_X offers pagpaparangal in a "competition"
- User_X gives pagpaparangal in chain letters
- User_X gives pagpaparangal because you're their bff

I personally think it would be great if we could get at least 30% (yes, the percentage is shockingly low of how I see pagpaparangal being used) of users using pagpaparangal correctly. If we got 50% it would be amazing and if we got 100% I think it would be a miracle. So lets just do the best we can in understanding what pagpaparangal are for and use them correctly.

Note: There is no "User_X" if one is ever created I appologise for tarnashing their name before it ever existed. Sorry!

A feeling of achievement, no matter how small, is still great.

Wow! About one araw ago, I got my first props! I was ecstatic! Temptasia gave me pagpaparangal for the Office bidyo I was contributing. And, then I realized something: recognition is what we really base our actions off of.

I first joined Fanpop because I wanted to watch some cool videos, and because I was bored. I didn't really plan on doing much on it, just sumali a few key spots (my paborito TV shows). As I delved further and further into what this website had to offer, I began wanting to be a part of it. I began seeing names everywhere (Chel, Temptasia, Benji) and I realized I wanted to be recognized....

One taon down (and then some) and getting better all the time...
One year down (and then some) and getting better all the time...
OK, OK, so I realize I'm a couple months late for the actual one taon anniversary of the site launch (to anyone outside of the staff), but I still can't let it pass without notice. So I challenge you, the fanpop fan, to write a little something about fanpop, to ipakita your appreciation for this site that we've come to know and love.

Since this is the first time we've done one of these things, I'm suggesting haiku to start, because it's short, easy, and most everyone knows how to do it.

However, in case anyone does not remember how haiku works, here's a quick primer. In English, it's simple: a line with five syllables, then a line of seven syllables, then a last line of five syllables. No other structure is necessary.

Here's an illustrative example of the form:

One two three four five
Two three four five through seven
Seven eight nine ten

...which has nothing to do with fanpop. You can do better, can't you?
