Forgive me. This is a rant. But I think these things MUST be said!
The telebisyon was set to a fixed channel, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim. My eyes were hungry for more. I just needed to know.
The woman just barely able to survive, her internal organs almost at a complete stop. She was suffering from the loss of her baby...and the fact that she tried to bring her baby boy back to life was making her pay.
The tears rolled out of my eyes at my discovery of the Homunculi’s true identity. Her boy... her unborn fetus.
The gates of truth was like staring directly through the gates of hell itself. I felt the horror as Ed looked into the eyes of the beast and found the true face of Humanity.
The restrictions on the telebisyon shows that are on for the kids of our generation are, in a sense, ridiculous. The children of the world need Full Metal Alchemist.
3:00 p.m.- My brothers bus stop. Laughter, at what you ask? A severed deer head in the trench near the road. Disgusting, revolting and the feeling that made me wonder..."who would cut off the head of a deer and throw it in a trench?" and madami importantly..."why would grade schoolers laugh at the sight?" telebisyon is the key.
I have been a tagahanga of Cartoon network for as long as I can remember. Most of all, the anime. Just recently though it has been a downhill rollercoaster of Hell.
Take a show, strip it of moral and all feeling and you have American's children entertainment. Why would something as meaningfull as FMA be played on an airtime of 1:30 a.m. and be off limits to little kids, when they could turn the TV on at any oras of the evening and find the gross comedy of the HIDDEN ADULT CONTENT of things like Adventure Time or Family Guy?! And do NOT even get me started on MAD tv.
American sensors are racists to me. Of all the anime that is bieng dubbed or even subbed in this country, Not one has ever even been advertised on telebisyon in daylight hours. Instead, they keep the anime HIDDEN away in the wee hours of the morning when most of the world sleeps. They make NO EFFORT to promote these shows at all (except the occasioanl Pokemon, Naruto and Yugi-Oh themes), and when asked why, the reply is....
"Anime usually deals with the tradgedies in a child/teenagers life and is NOT APPROPRIATE for the viewing of children. This may upset and disturb the children who are dealing with such occurences already."
NOT APPROPRIATE! Dont tell me that things like FMA and Bleach are inappropriate when the existance of Family Guy is even allowed to be running through kids minds. And dont you think that if the kids were exposed to the situations like Edward went through a little earlier in life then they would know how to deal with things like death later on?
I know a couple things...I am NEVER watching Cartoon Network again and ... If I ever had a kid...They would be raised on anime....Like I was.
