GoT Modern AU Fics?

I just had a tiny tanong to ask about Modern AU fanfics because I was thinking of Pagsulat one, is it necessary for the characters to have their same names or would using the actor's names be a possible choice as well?

I read one and the writer kept the characters with the same last names. everything was the same except the setting. So I guess you could keep the last names.
