Young actor cast for Game of Thrones season 6, plus cast sightings and s6 returns! 

We’re all hoping for a batch of major casting announcements at this year’s

panel at San Diego Comic Con on July 10th. Usually, a bit of casting news will leak before then, and we do have some news for you today!

According to the Twitter of Mad Fish Management, young actor Sam Coleman has won a role on

His Spotlight CV confirms the news, and that he will be shooting his role this coming August.

What role will the English actor be taking on in season 6? It’s unknown at this time. He doesn’t precisely fit any of the roles from the first casting list (at 18, too old for any of the young boys’ roles unless they decided that his age didn’t matter). There is much more of a possibility of him sliding into one of the spots from the second list of casting breakdowns, including outlaw members, servants and recruits.

Season 6 is expected to begin filming around mid-to-late July. This will be a busy time for cast sightings with costume fittings and potentially a read-through. Sightings have already increased, with Maisie Williams and Kit Harington spotted (again!) in Belfast this week. (Yes, I confirmed, he did mean Kit when he mentioned Jon Snow.)

Other actors’ returns have been confirmed by their resumes/CV like Jerome Flynn and Tom Wlaschiha. With the extras casting in Spain ongoing, this is an exciting time, looking ahead at season 6!

This new boy cast, I’ve never heard or seen about him… Much to discover. From someone who has seen the series he’s in, is he good ?

Also interesting that Tom W. is still in the show. I thought we would have a timelapse and see Arya somewhere else, as I think all she wants now is to get the f*ck out of the House of Black and White.

Weird. Those curls make him look rather Tyrellish, plus the Finn connection. Hm. Lazy Leo? I think Dickon is not supposed to be chubby. Then again neither is Leo. But with Oldtown being in I could see it.

Horas/Hobber (Horror/Slobber) would be some other Tyrell connection. The actual heirs of Highgarden (well one of them) in the books if all of Mace’s kids kneel over without issue. But would be a bit late for them now I guess.

Cool! Anyway, in Dubrovnik at the moment, was just on a GoT tour. She did mention they were filming there in October! Also showed us where Cersei was NOT allowed to film her walk, lol. Tons of goodies. Like Joffrey actually killing some of those pidgeons in the pie. Wish I was here during filming

Hoyti Von Totiy, That would be good if he’s playing Dickon. But this kid does not look like a typical knight/swordsman. 20 stone at 18 years – guy is too big to play young Robert, either. IMO, he looks like a mix of Samwise Gamgee and Samwell Tarly.

If you told me that was 13-year old Robert Baratheon (With a slight change in hair color) I’d believe you.

Considering Kit has made Belfast his home for many years, no surprise he would be flying in!!!!!!!

On a sidenote, one of my friends literally bumped (she’s remarkably clumsy for someone who plays tennis!) into Kit Harrington at Wimbledon today:

No way. Dickon is the son Randyll Tarly wanted, meaning he is a fighter… strong and thin.

Casting spoilers indicate Randyl Tarly for season 6. A Sam flashback makes sense as character development for both father and son. If he IS young Sam, its another bit of great casting!

Dickon isn’t supposed to be so Sam like, if you know what I mean. I’m guessing this guy is just a minor role.

There is nothing remotely Dickon-like about this kid. The breakdown for Brother (Dickon) was “early to mid-20’s . Athletic, a good hunter, an excellent swordsman, manly, not particularly bright but the favourite child of the father.”

My first thought was that he might be a young Hodor in a flashback, and they went with an older teen because they need Hodor to be big, of course. And I’m sure there’s plenty of small roles we haven’t heard about yet.

Her blind training is next, clearly. And casting implies she’ll get into a troupe like she does in TWOW, too. Arya’s training as a Faceless Woman is far from over. Hopefully we’ll get to the point soon, though.

Agree with people saying that’s young Hodor. Before even reading the title, I looked at his facial features in the photo and immediately thought he looked like a young version of Kristian Nairn.

Before going off on any wild speculation as to what role an actor may be playing, remember the cautionary tale of the Winterfell Worker.

Young Robert I could understand, if show Robert = not Book Robert. Book Robert was quite athletic until he quit warring and started whoring and wine-ing

Isn’t Robert supposed to be fit and thinner in his youth? I seem to recall some type of dialog in the very first episode of the series between Ned and Robert about how he got fat after he became King.

If so then why would they cast someone so “hefty” to play young Robert.

Maybe he’s Cartman “I’m not fat, I’m big boned!”

Kit returning doesn’t confirm shit,remember Charles Dance was brought back last season to film his corpse so before some clever morons start claiming some confirmed bullshit just remember that .

If HBO does their job, it won’t be confirmed till season 6 airs. But we can read between the lines, as more and more evidence pops up.

That guy was riding with the Boltons if I remember correctly. Anyway you see him in the scene when Ramsay goes back to Winterfell after the battle.

Anyway I also think this new actor could be young Hodor. I always thought that there was something more about this mystery guy and his (aunt?) Old Nan. Maybe they are linked to WW or something “winteresque” ? As I know Old Nan knows everything about legends, she knew many many Starks.. and there SHOULD be a better reason about Hodor’s not being able to speak. A big shock as a child or something? What makes me think of this is that they just couldn’t keep an actor for 5 seasons, just to carry Bran, and break some heads off

With Ramsay still in it and now without Myranda ( The Bastard’s Boys proxy in some regards). Could all the young lads being cast actually be his boys making an appearance? Would certainly give a potential SH-esque character people to pick off and I still won’t give up on my Frey pie!

Some of the other casting calls fit with a young Ned, young Brandon, young Robert or similar, so it was thought that we’d maybe get some sort of flashback to their childhood days… Ned and Robert meeting for the first time, the betrothal between Robert and Lyanna, something like that.

I doubt he’d be the centerpiece of it. Just in the background of the one with Ned and Brandon and potentially Robert that we already know about from the first casting call.

No, Randyll Tarly preferred Dickon over Sam because he’s more fierce and military. He wouldn’t be as .. well-padded … as that young fella is.
