'Game of Thrones' Without Wigs Is a Totally Different Show
You can't rule Westeros with your natural hair, obviously.
Plenty of things make Westeros the most dramatic of all TV landscapes — the constant death and destruction, the ice zombies, the occasional murderous smoke babies. And, of course, the totally epic wigs. While Kit Harington\'s emo Jon Snow mane is completely his own, plenty of other
stars have donned wigs to help them get into character. From the gorgeous to the grimy, fake hair adds a whole new dimension to the Seven Kingdoms. Keep scrolling to check out what some of your favorite rogues and khaleesis look like without their signature
This is some next-level wig action, but we wold expect nothing less from the ice queen of Westeros. Of course, now that Cersei\'s been publicly shamed and shorn of her long locks, actress Lena Headey is going to be rocking a whole new wig next season. Very Maria Von Trapp, but with more bloody nudity.
Emilia Clarke genuinely looks like an entirely different person when she\'s not wearing her trademark white-blonde Dany wig. And those elaborate khaleesi braids are totally to die for.
You can\'t rule Westeros without a majorly over-the-top updo. Margaery delivered hair drama in spades at the Purple Wedding to Joffrey. Her new husband didn\'t survive the night, but this wig action will go down in history. In real life, actress Natalie Dormer also isn\'t afraid to take risks with her mane, like when she shaved half her head for her role in
Melisandre\'s witchy powers are now legendary, and her long dark red locks definitely add to her evil allure. Actress Carice van Houten\'s natural hair is perfectly fine, but that long bob never would have convinced Stannis to burn his own daughter at the stake. (BTW, we\'ll forgive Melisandre for just about everything she\'s done if she\'s part of bringing Jon Snow back from the dead. Just saying.)
Without the greasy Hound wig, actor Rory McCann looks like your everyday milquetoast insurance salesman. He cleans up well, but we think we prefer him as the tortured rogue member of the Kingsguard.
For a Faceless Man, Jaqen H\'ghar actually has some pretty sweet tresses. The long locks and the streak of gray only add to the mystery of Arya\'s accomplice of few words. German actor Tom Wlaschiha should think about growing his hair out for real.
Harry Lloyd\'s sexy good looks shine through whether his hair is short and dark or long and light. If only Viserys had lasted a bit longer on
— maybe we could have seen him rocking an elaborate braided updo just like his sister Dany.
hadn\'t quite gotten its act together in Season 1. Either that, or Ned Stark was just really feeling the Snooki pouf look.
Everyone knows the Greyjoys are tough as hell — they\'re Ironborn, after all. But good ole\' Balon looks like he could use a deep conditioning treatment. His hair is most definitely paying an iron price of some kind.
