De Britse acteur Ed Westwick wil niets liever dan een rol vertolken in een productie in het bekende Londense theaterdistrict West End, de Britse tegenhanger van Broadway. Westwick, die bij het grote publiek bekend raakte als Chuck bass in de Amerikaanse tienerserie "Gossip Girl", zegt meer in petto te hebben dan enkel en alleen acteren voor televisie of film.

"Ik wil een keer deel uitmaken van een kleinschaliger, intiemer project. Alleen op die manier kunnen mensen me pas echt leren kennen, zonder dat er een televisiescherm in de weg staat. Ik kan zingen, dus misschien een musical", aldus Westwick op showbizzsite Contactmusic.com.

Actress Emma Watson is worth how much? An estimated $32 million, thanks to the wildly popular "Harry Potter" film franchise that made her a global superstar.

She has a hard time believing she has made so many millions at such a young age.

In het Waasland Shopping Center in Sint-Niklaas zijn woensdagnamiddag duizenden kijklustigen opgedaagd voor een signeersessie van de Amerikaanse actrice en zangeres Hilary Duff. Zij signeerde haar debuutroman Elixer, die in ons land door Boekerij/Lannoo op de markt gebracht wordt.

Woensdagmorgen arriveerden de eerste fans in het winkelcentrum. Ze kwamen uit Nederland, Noord-Frankrijk, Wallonië en Vlaanderen. Op een podium in de centrale hal signeerde de 23-jarige Duff woensdagnamiddag een uur langer dan voorzien haar debuutroman Elixer.

Countryster Taylor matulin en zangeres Adele hebben zondag elk drie Awards gewonnen op de American Music Awards. matulin werd uitgeroepen tot 'artiest van het jaar'.

De 21-jarige matulin nam ook de Award 'beste countryzangeres' en 'beste country album' mee naar huis. Adele, die nog tot eind dit jaar herstelt van een keeloperatie, werd bekroond met de Awards voor 'beste Rock/pop album', 'beste vrouwelijk rock/pop artiest' en 'beste eigentijdse volwassen artiest'. Andere winnaars waren Nikcki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Beyonce, Lady Antebellum en Maroon 5. Ook Katy Perry kreeg een beeldje.
