What was the big deal with Edward being in the sunlight at the big festival thing? 1)nobody would be paying attention to him, anyways. 2)haven't people ever heard of body glitter?

1)You don't have to be concentrating on a person to see them.most People aren't oblivious to their surroundings.

2) It doesn't really look like body glitter. Glitter was nowhere in the book. That's just something some readers made up to make fun of the vampires. It was described as looking like diamond.

If you were somewhere, and saw a sparkly man, would you notice him, even if you weren't looking at him initially?
Especially if he looks like a diamond?
Glitter doesn't really shimmer or glisten, it just kind of blinks light at you from certain angles. People should be smart enough to know the difference.

Since most people don't believe in magic and such, if they noticed, they'd probably just assume it was glitter, or from a distance, a weird sando or some sort of unusual fashion statement, I mean, if you see someone sparkling, most people wouldn't draw the conclusion that either the person was a vampire, or that something was even not normal or going on, just because sparkling isn't THAT not normal.
I'm guessing that SMeyer did it that was just because she wanted Bella to be able to get there in time to save Edward, I mean, Edward could have easily exposed himself as being inhuman in a thousand different ways before then, like smashing a wall, or picking up a car, or even stepping out in the sun a few hours earlier, since apparently in SMeyer's mind, everything has to have a "happy" ending, and no one can die in a book.

I mean, no one is going to go "OMG VAMPIRE GET IN THE CAR" but I suppose it would be noticed sa pamamagitan ng people closest to him.

Though, since most humans in Smeyers series seem like idiots, they prolly wouldn't have thought anything was up, other than some guy getting his shine on.

I wonder why they never tried make-up? if they put a good amount on, the sun wouldn't reach their skin so in theory it wouldn't sparkle.
