Harry Potter Vs. Twilight Tanong

Is there a range at which spells can be cast?

I mean how far away does a wizard have to be from their victim before they can cast say the Avada. I noticed it seems to be a spell that's always cast reasonable close up, but is that just an aiming issue, or can they cast it from wherever so long as they have an uninterrupted line of sight to the victim?

Just wondering after pagbaba some of the responses to a few of the HP character against Twilight character questions.

it's never been explained in a very detailed way how far a spell can reach, but I guess far enough for there is a risk of stray spell/curse hitting you in a battlefield. or maybe they'll only stopped after meeting a solid surface? IDK

is there any explanation how fast is vampire 'fast' or how hard is they body actually? (would crushing them with 1 ton solid metal from above enough to kill it?) never been explained either (not in detailed way)

The average vampire runs at an excess of 100 miles per oras (as stated sa pamamagitan ng the Illustrated Guide), but slower than a commercial airplane (as stated sa pamamagitan ng Alice), so anywhere from 101-500 mph. Their skin is as dense as actual diamonds (as stated sa pamamagitan ng the Illustrated Guide), so 3.5 gm/cc

I was hoping it was just a case of me having missed that bit of info :(

I'd imagine that there would have to a range. With summoning charms, the farther away an object is, the harder it is to summon. And that's with a spell designed specifically to work over distance. I'd imagine that, for all the other spells, the farther away you are, the less chance you have of the spell reaching the intended target.

Hmm, that would make sense. I wish JK had been (even) madami detailed with her information, I would have loved to know whether a spell had a maximum distance it could be cast from or if it simply dissipated in power the longer it had to travel till it reached it's intended target... though the later seems unlikely, as it would mean that technically you could survive the killing curse...?
