Anusha flopped back down onto her bed, flicking the off switch on the TV remote. There was nothing on, nothing good at least. General Hospital had just started, but no one watches that! She was just thinking about how starring in General Hospital had ruined Hugh Laurie's career when she heard footsteps approaching, lots of them. As she pushed herself back up onto her pillows she saw a small crowd of people, amberRocks in the lead, all walking towards her room. As they came through her door they proceeded to spread out around her bed. She noticed that they all kept glancing at each other and whispering, but not loud enough for Anusha to hear from her bed.
"What's going on??" She directed this tanong at amberRocks, who seemed to be in charge. She noticed Immunity standing towards the back of the group, looking very sheepish, and felt a sudden twang of guilt about how she spoke to her before looking back at amberRocks. She was ready for most responses, like: "You're going to die", "You're going to live", "They are doing the inspection early", even "We're sorry for how we treated you", but not this:
"We've come to sing you a song!!"
If she hadn't looked so serious, Anusha would have laughed. Instead she faked it as a cough and stared around the room at all the doctors standing there, waiting for one of them to break and when no one showed any sign of it being a joke she realized they really were there to sing her a song!
"What song... have you come to sing me??" She returned her gaze to amberRocks with her eyebrows raised.
"'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' is the only song we all know the words to, so we've gone with that."
They tried to sing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' many times, but never really got past the first line. With each Interruption amberRocks could be seen getting madami and madami annoyed:
"Who's pag-awit 'Ba Ba Black Sheep??'"
"Pronunciation is important!!"
"More lively, people! We're trying to help Anusha, not send her to sleep!!"
"Hey!! Who pulled down my pants?!?!" (oldmovie and jameswilson could be seen giggling.)
"Can we at least try and stay in tune??"
When they finally finished the song there was silence as everyone stared at Anusha, waiting for some kind of response.
"...It was... good..." The cheer that went up when she sinabi this was madami suited to some great achievement being accomplished, like winning the World Cup, not pag-awit a 6 line long children's song, but they didn't care. Completely forgetting about Anusha the group turned at once and left, buzzing with adrenaline from completing their goal.
As Anusha flopped onto her kama once again she wondered what had become of the people in this hospital...
