AN: This is a bit of a companion piece to “Guilt” (link) but can also be read as a stand-alone.

Confessions
He kept his eyes glued to the ceiling, focused on the the fading white paint, ignoring the chatter of the city that could be heard from the open window. The sheets covered the lover half of his body, his bare chest exposed in the heat; and he shifted slightly, the woman besides him stirring. Looking over at her, he leaned closer to her face, just enough to let his lips brush her forehead, blue orbs met an exhausted pair of gray ones.
The woman besides him shifted closer into his side, murmuring a whispered 'Hugh' into his chest. She ran his hands along his skin, wrapping her arms around his waist. Again, her gray met Hugh's blue ones, and almost immediately, she turned her face away at the emotionless gaze in his eyes. When she opened her mouth, her voice was a faint whisper and she couldn't keep the tremble out of her voice. “What's wrong?”
Hugh sinabi nothing in response to Lisa's question, keeping his gaze focused on the side of her face before he sat up, looking across the bedroom. He pulled the sheets around his waist as he slipped from the bed, making his way to the mirror on the dresser. Placing his hands on the dresser's wooden surface, he let the sheets fall to the floor, looking up at his exhausted reflection.
“Did I do something?” Lisa's whisper startled him from his thoughts and he turned to look at her, his eyes hard and slightly narrowed in thought.
Hugh moved towards the kama in a dreamlike state, his eyes focused on the woman sitting on her bed, his motions becoming madami fluid as he got closer to her. He sat on the bed, staring across the room at the open window. Lisa's hand reached for his and held it tightly, her thumb rubbing gentle circles on Hugh's palm.
The blue eyed older man turned to look his costar in the eye, unblinking and leaned forwards, halik her deeply but also quickly. As he pulled back, he kept his lips inches from hers, still looking her in the eyes.
“Hugh … wha --?” Lisa wasn't sure how to react.
“I pag-ibig you,” he whispered, going to halik her again. “I always will.”
