Also... and if you follow, to wish away the blood of your parents (the Inuyoukai are not evil demon sa pamamagitan ng nature) how would that purify the shikon jewel? It wouldn't! Kikyo sinabi it would probably cease to exist PROBABLY, not definitely, because she wasn’t entirely sure. Her guess was based on the simple minded idea that humans are good and demons are bad (which makes no sense for her considering how wise she was supposed to be :/) to even consider this is clearly a flawed concept. It is even stated in Movie 3 that humans are the Greediest and nastiest of all beings. How would wishing to become human make a different than if one made a wish to become powerful or a demon for instance, it makes no sense. The jewel would remain regardless and Inuyasha and Kikyo would have ended up cursed if they used the jewel for their own selfish purposes, regardless of their intentions or they’re love.

I agree. The couple would be cursed either way. If you take a look throughout the entire series, those whose lives are caught up with jewel, through some way or another, end up losing something. Whether it’s Kouga and his shards, (the loss of power and the subsequent feeling of emptiness afterwards, not to mention the times when Naraku used those very shards against him.) Kikyo losing her life over it, Kagome, (being catapulted 500 years in the past, thrown into a dangerous situation, that she shouldn’t have been thrown into in the first place), Kohaku’s being manipulated sa pamamagitan ng Naraku through the shards in his neck, and then…Naraku himself. (Onigumo allowing those demons to consume him due to his unhealthy obsession with Kikyo, and soon afterwards, the jewel) There are others I left out but I’m sure you get my point. When it comes to the jewel, or wishing on it rather, you can’t win. About Kikyo though, she is human, and naturally, humans are afraid of anything that is different than themselves. (also, ibingiay the superstitious practices of the time, it just adds fuel to the fire) I also think her upbringing had something to do with her beliefs. She is a Miko, likely grew up in a very religious family and went through rigorous training and spiritual indoctrination. I know first hand that what you're taught when you're younger, (especially where religion is concerned) follows you well into adulthood. Those beliefs are hard to shake, especially for her, ibingiay that many youkai she came in contact were hostile and malevolent in nature. I agree also that most youkai (not so much dog-youkai, but youkai in general) aren’t inherently evil. Humans may observe their behavior and come up with their own conclusions, but what humans might consider an abomination, to the youkai it might just mean survival. A good example is, I forget the episode/chapter but there was an ep with some alupihan demons in it, a mother and her children were mentioned. She was teaching them how to hunt, and a village near their nest was constantly under attack. The humans thought, evil youkai, but in reality it was just a mother teaching her children how to fend for themselves, teaching them how to live like any good parent would do. But, I’m sure you know all this. I think I’m beginning to sound like a broken record player. =p But yeah, just adding a bit madami of my own thoughts to your response. =)
