Ok this is just my option but I think lucas just settled for her. Ok he was obvously in love with linsey but she wouldnt take him back.

I definitely do not think Lucas & Peyton "settled." I sometimes think it's strange that they both needed people they were in relationships with to tell them that they were in love w/each other, and they always denied it, and someone always had to remind them "noo you are in love with Lucas/Peyton" (Jake w/Peyton in season 3, Brooke & Skills w/Lucas in season 4, Julian w/Peyton in season 6 [flashback], Lindsey in season 5 w/Lucas...).
But that is NOT settling. It's just bad story-telling in my opinion.

I just had to pick this though because one of the biggest parts of why I love Brucas so much is because of the way they understand each other. I often think Lucas understood Brooke better than anyone (even Peyton and Julian)- and he was the first person to really get her, and it was through his discovery of who she really is that we, as an audience, got to discover who Brooke really is.
And in general I think Brooke understands people really well... but I don't think that's exclusive to Lucas. I think she gets most of her friends better than anyone else- and sometimes she does things how she wants to do it b/c she thinks its the best way... but she always manages to make everything a million times better even if at first she was making it worse. I think she really gets what people need... it's just whether she wants to be a big person and do it even if its difficult for her. Of course there were times when this wasn't the case, but I'm talking in general.

This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard! It was evident that even when he was with Brooke he still put Peyton first most of the time so how did he "settle for her"

I don't agree with the BL one either, but I can at least understand why people say it.

This is so stupid and ridiculous and because I saw some comments dealing with S5 ,Peyton was in love with him all along and Lucas did the same ,he got inspired and started writing (a second book for HER) when she came back ,I think the ''comet'' quote says everything ,and well you know no matter what relationship she always came first to him!
