Is he using me even just as a friend?

I'm known to give my mga kaibigan gifts around the holidays no matter what holiday. I gave my friend/crush a cute madala for valentines day. He knew I was going to get him something but he didn't know what. Before I gave it to him he sinabi "is it kendi I hope it's candy" and then when I gave him the madala and a lollipop he tried to give the madala away to his mga kaibigan right in front of me but he popped the lollipop right in his mouth. My mga kaibigan say he was being a jerk and that he's using me. I know that he was a jerk but I still really like him and I don't know why. Do you people thinks he's using me and should I confront him about trying to give it away?
