Midnight, there was a buzz in Mac’s apartment. He allowed her to come inside the building without a question. For he knew who that was. He smiled with grateful and waited for a knock on the door…………………
Stella was not sure. Why he wanted her to be at his place? She had no idea why. Anyway, she’d been to his place before. Why should she afraid of it now? She was now standing in front of Mac’s door but she dare not to knock. Finally, she have him 3 light knocks…..
The door opened wide and Mac was standing there, still in his work suit. He smiled to her who gave him a flash back and stepped into his ‘a bit mess’ apartment. It was changed. The room wasn’t as neat as the last time she gave him a visit. The time that Peyton was his girlfriend. Seemed that he didn’t have any woman in his life recently. She sat on his sopa while Mac gave her a mug of coffee. She sinabi thanks and watched him as he sat susunod to her on the cane couch. They were sitting in silence, sipping their coffee, then Mac broke the silence.
“I’m glad you are here, for accepting my offer.”
She turned to him, surprised. But she couldn’t surprise long because Mac turned to press ‘play’ on the remote. And she must be surprised again that Mac had a mood to watch ‘The Phantom of the Opera’.….
Mac started to hum a song and sang it finally. ‘All I ask of You’ from ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ and Stella knew why he wanted her to be at his place, to ipakita his feelings without other people. She smiled and sang after him
“Say you pag-ibig me every waking moment. Turn my head with talk of summer time. Say you need me with you now and always. Promise me that all you say is true, that’s all I ask of you.”
Mac knew that she understood his wants now.
“Let me be your shelter, let me be your light, you’re safe, no one can find you. Your fears are far behind you”
Stella continued
“All I want is freedom, a world with no madami night, and you, always beside me, to hold me and to hide me”
Mac “Then say you’ll share with me one love, one life time. Let me lead you from your solitude. Say you need me with you here, beside you. Anywhere you go let me go too. Christine, that’s all I ask of you”
Stella could understand who “Christine” referred to so she sang
“Say you’ll share with me one love, one life time. Say the word and I will follow you”
They sang together “share each araw with me each night, each morning”
She demanded “say you pag-ibig me”
And Mac promised “you know I do”
In unison, they sang “love me, that’s all I ask of you. Anywhere you go let me go too. pag-ibig me, that’s all I ask of you”
They looked at each other and suddenly, they felt pag-ibig surrounding them.
“I hope that you really mean it”
Stella sinabi with her beautiful lips and Mac gave her a sweet promise as their tongue caressed each other……
