Help me! I was using my vista laptop and was on facebook! The computer completly locked up. I could not even "ctrl-alt-del". I cold reboot it and it says... "disk read error, push "ctrl-alt-del" to reboot! whats up?

I know you probably have this sorted out sa pamamagitan ng now, but unfortunately when you do a cold reboot you risk the chance that the system may not recover. I know in this instance you tried the "ctrl-alt-del" and it would not work.

I had a this problom the whole computer is not dead. what i did was use a system restore you may lose a little info but most all of it will still be there. the other thing you an do is upgrade OS you will save all info

I'm not entirely sure what's up (hey, I'm a bibliophile, not a nerd or geek!) but press ctrl-alt-del and try to reboot it. I have an old Windows '94 (It's as old as ME!) that has this problem. You should be able to use it like normal, except it might be slower, and it might freeze at times. Try posting your tanong at Windows. I'm sure they have a forum... somewhere.
