Brandt's POV
We walked into the room where we usual receive our missions and Naruto's group is being told about how missions are given. We turn in our mission ulat and Naruto is saying he isn't a brat anymore and wants a real mission while pagganap like a brat.
I see the fat cat lady leave with the cat Toro and he is giving me a dirty look. "Man, does everybody have to go get that cat?" asks Grady beside me.
Brandt's Flashback
We found Toro and he wasn't coming easily so I turned into a cat to try and convince him "Meow!" (Get away! You just want to take me back! I'm never going back!)
"Its okay we're just going to uh, give you to a nice new owner who will give you tasty tuna." I lie.
"Meow? Meow!" (Oh really? Thank you!) he sinabi then I kinda felt bad as we handed him over to his actual owner.
The Present
"I"m gonna demolish you!" My attention was brought back sa pamamagitan ng Naruto yelling at his new client. They had got their C mission. It seems the old man they have to guard doesn't think much of three kids.
When they leave the Hokage looks at us "I suppose its fair if you give you a C mission as well."
I shake my head "No need Sir, we are fine with what missions you give us until we are ready."
Grady glares at me and whispers in my ear "Dude! What are you say?" But I ignore him.
"Nonsense, you two have been completing your missions perfectly without a single complaint, you are ready. Bring in our segundo guest!" He orders and yet another old man, though slightly younger, walks in.
"Hello there, I'm Engorou, I need you to guide me through the forest to my old tahanan and get my grandchildren and bring them here." He says, sounds simple enough and yet...
"If your just going to get your grandchildren then why do you need us?" Grady asks before I do.
Bakoto finally says something, for a segundo there I thought he had fallen asleep on us again. "We have been getting reports of robbers and highwaymen in that area so he has asked us for standard protection." That sagot that.
Outside Bakoto says that he has other things he has to do and entrusts with Engorou's safety "It shouldn't be too difficult for you, you are ninja and can easily handle robbers and such." He says before walking away.
Grady's POV
Walking in silence, we traversed for awhile int he forest until I got bored "So Engorou, what do you do for a living?"
He looks at me then back ahead "I used to dig in the mines until..." he trails off.
"Until what?" Brandt asks.
"Um, until some gangsters who wanted the minerals for profit tried to take them and the whole mine ended caving in." he sinabi and Brandt shook his head.
"You see?! That is exactly why the world is so messed up. People who want something try to take it sa pamamagitan ng force if they can't have it." He says surprising me then walks on in silence.
Me and Komots looks at each other then shrug "So, what about your grandkids?" I ask again. "Isn't it dangerous to leave them alone?"
He shakes his head "No Coy can keep anything harmful away its just his cousin Aiko shes.. different."
You believe this guy, Komots? I ask him in that special way we talk to each other.
He shakes his head No somethings off about him, I can feel it.
Brandt's POV
We get to a long bridge that looks completely unstable but we try to tumawid it anyways "Try not to ilipat too much, this bridge isn't very safe."
Suddenly I hear a snap and I feel weightless. I try to grab a ledge but miss then Grady whips out his staff and jabs it into the side of the cliff with me hanging on to the staff with him, Komots on Grady's back and Engorou hanging on to my ankles.
"Okay who was shaking the bridge when I just sinabi do not ilipat around?!" I yelled angrily.
"No one! the rope must have snapped under the weight." Engorou says back.
