I think Anita and Cora are actually quite good. They LOVE their daughters, there is no denying that.
King George, Pan and Sir Maurice (more Moe than Maurice though) are the worst. They clearly don't love their children.

I wish Rumpel was here too. He's just as bad as most of these. He is like Pan: Abandoned his son. Even if he kept looking for him, he STILL abandoned him and nothing can change that!

For me it was hard to choose between Pan and Milah, because in my personal opinion both of them are equally awful

I think Snow and Charming also deserved to be in this list too, they're not every quite good parents

Why are there even any other options, Pan's the only one who said he was never meant to be a father. Worst parent ever.

I didn't include anyone that is currently on the island looking for Henry (e.i Gina and Rumple) because they would be on the island at all if they weren't good parents. Also I realized I was late for work and had to cut it short. :) I can add them after work though if you really think they should be here.

I only think Rumpel should be here, he's nearly as worse as Pan in my opinion.

I think Rumpel is a good father; yes, he made a huge mistake but literally every single thing he ever did after that mistake was to get his son back and try to make it right.

I agree with everyone, Pan, no contest. I've even stopped liking him though his story was SO interesting! Poor Rumpel :(

King George really cared about Charming's twin but he wasn't good to Charming. So yeah he and Milah used to be on my first place. Peter Pan now took that place after this ep. :/ Damn that was really mind-blowing though. I still can't quite process it. xD

George cried when the twin died, but I think it was because he would go into poverty and not have much gold. ^

There is no way I'm adding Rumple and not Regina. She has been trying to kill her stepdaughter since she was eight years old. IMO though both Rumple and Gina have both more then atoned for their respective lapses in parenting.

Let's recap: he told Rumple he would try to find a job and didn't, he tried to make Rumple climb a tree when he was TERRIFIED of heights just so he could fly, he traded Rumple for his youth, when Rumple was grown up he tried to take Baelfire from him, he constantly rubs in Rumple's face that he abandoned him, he constantly rubs in Rumple's face that he's CONSTANTLY abandoned, he said he wasn't meant to be a father, he told Rumple that NEITHER of them were cut out to be a father, he killed his great-grandson so he could live, AND he trapped Rumple in a box. Yup, he's a shit parent.

I went back and watched the episodes from before this one and I kept watching the scenes between him and Rumple and I kept thinking, "Really!? This is how you treat your son after abandoning him? REALLY!?"

Now, I understand why Rumple didn't want to go through the portal with Bae. I don't think it was because of the dagger. I think it's because he didn't want to go to Neverland and see his shitty manchild father again.

@allis143: I agree, though I don't think it was seeing Pan again (they were going to a land without magic and Neverland had lots of magic), I think he was thinking of what happened the last time he jumped into a portal with someone he cared about.

I cannot belief what he did to Rumple! Now it all makes sense. Rumple didn't want to go through the portal with Bae because he remembered how going through a portal with his own father ruined their family. All the others here made mistakes, but they all clearly loved their child. Pan, for lack of a better term, doesn't give a shit about Rumple. He didn't show any regret after he made his choice, and Rumple immediately showed regret when he didn't follow Bae through the portal. For me, this isn't a contest. Pan wasn't meant to have children and he never should have. Just awful.

Rumple's abandoning Bae was a momentary lapse in judgement due to fear of (as SherlockStark and LifesGoodx3 put) what happened LAST time he went through a portal, but the rest of his life was dedicated to finding Bae. He actually said, "without him, I'll surely turn to dust." And after Bae was gone, when he said he would find him, he said something along the lines of "I will love nothing else!" All Pan cared about was finding a way to live forever. I mean, after he turned into a boy and he was watching his son be taken away, he did seem slightly sad to see him go, but that vanished instantly.

@evilregal I said I wasn't going to add one and not the other. You can argue all you want about who is worse but if one can be considered a bad parent they are both eligible.

Peter Pan is the worst definitely, he is the only one there who has maliciously taunted and emotionally abused his child to entertain himself. At least all the other parents loved their children and they tried they really did to be good parents and do the best for their children but things like depression, running a kingdom, and dark magic got in the way. And because I will always defend her - Milah may not have been the best mother, but she did love her son and I refuse to believe that the situation was as simple as it was on the surface.

That's what I'm like with Milah too, she was spiralling down into depression and couldn't do anything but leave.

Am i the only one who doesn't think Rumples the worst parent in the world? Yes i didn't like that he let Bae go through the portal either and it was cowardly but it was a lapse of judgement and like everyone said look what happened the last time he went through a portal. I thought he was a good dad to Bae sort of he thought he was protecting his son by killing people who bothered him(not that it's a good thing) i feel like he almost tried to hard to make his son feel protected because of what happened to him.

^ I actually think most people agree with you. He has done so much to make up for what he did. I wasn't even going to add him (or Regina) because I believe that by being on that island they have proven that they will do anything for there children.

I think saying Rumple is a good father is like saying Cora is a good mother...I believe they are both good parents in their own way, they're like soul mates Rumple and Cora. They both made mistakes in the FL and tried to make up for them in storybrooke, but nothing can change their actions.

I think Rumble because even after his own father abandoned him, he still abandoned Neil. He didn't learn.

Evilregal: i think Cora's abusive but loved Regina in a way at least she cared Pan didn't. He was a crap parent through and through Cora was at least a little better then him.
