They both defiantly are at fault. Although I blame Haley a little bit more, lol. Nathan shouldn't have made her choose, but I don't think he meant it, he just wasn't thinking clearly, all he was thinking about was loosing Haley.

Both, Haley was the main source of blame and many look at her for being the 'bitch' which she was -but Nathan did have a part to play in all of it too -just not as much as Hales did.
Theres no arguing that Haley was wrong, she kissed somebody that want her husband -twice & then she left town & never even asked nathan to go with her -she then hardly spoke to him & then when he went to see her she was like 'maybe we rushed things' and nearly broke his heart -then she came swanning back into his life and didnt understand how he could be mean to her?
Nathan however, was extreemley jelous and made it clear that haley had to lie about chris as he was insecure about him -he then told her that she had to choose between two things she loved -and she rebelled!, -i do though think he said that, because Haley shut him out.
On the whole i think that they were both bad & both did things wrng, as they have agreed in ater seasons, But Haley was more to blame than natahn was -if you think though over the years Nathan has screwed up alot -and Hales has always forgave him, haley gets remeembered as a bad person who broke them apart h=though for just making one mistake.
Oh well never mind who did what, i love Naley & im glad they made it through this and everything else -well of course they did NH are invincible

They both screwed up.

I blame Haley for this one.. it's not the fact that she left because that was a GREAT move (once in a lifetime opportunity...), it's how she left and how she treated Nathan during the process. Nathan messed up when he said that if she leaves it's over... but that was one moment of bad judgment. Haley spent weeks lying to Nathan and going behind his back and Nathan made an excellent point when he asked her why she didn't ask him to come with her. Maybe it was something she needed to alone to prove it to herself, but she did not explain that well. She made it look like it was about Chris more than the music. And then when Nathan comes to visit Haley on tour.. my heart broke during that scene! I can't blame Haley for being scared and doubting their marriage, but as a Naley fan- I was furious! I couldn't believe that Nathan would build up the courage, take the time, and spend the money to go find her on tour and tell her how much he loves her that he wants to be with her and that he will go on tour with her and support her through everything... and Haley basically says "No thanks. I love you but I don't want you around"
I love Haley & Naley and there were a lot of great things about both Haley and Naley in season 2... but if Haley handled things differently she could have gone on tour and not put her marriage in jeopardy (of course the distance would be painful, but there would not have been as much anger and betrayal)

Nathan was wrong of course, but I wouldn't blame him.

At the end of the day, she did choose everything over Nathan.

agree with XNaley_JamesX and brattynemz! For me Haley will always be to blame for what happened, because no matter what nathan did, to me Haley was 10 times worse!
